We've adored Coquette in the past, but this time, we found the food a bit disappointing. The salad was delicious, but the steak was so-so, and the tuna was a 4/10. Perhaps this menu was just not for us! Still, the ambience is impeccable (rustic & romantic) and the service was delightful.
I have 2 reasons for writing that the restaurant was only a good value. The entrees were very small portions. We shared appetizers and dessert, but only the dessert was large. The apple cobbler that we ordered for dessert was difficult to share, so we should have been offered an extra plate. Additionally, I was disappointed because it was bready and sweet.
Excellent table service, fine cocktails and generous wine pours, all of us enjoyed our entrees, dessert, while passable, seemed to be an afterthought. The noise level in the second floor dining room, however, was unacceptable. All hardwood surfaces with no sound dampening in this older building made conversation at our table for four near impossible. Installing acoustical panels in the ceiling would be a big help.
