We saw a review from renowned chef Isaac Toups for this steakhouse and given that our other two choices were closed, we decided to go. Our first red flag was that our driver asked if we really wanted to go there because there were others she would recommend in its place. We didn't want to be rude and cancel last minute so we declined and went to crescent city. Upon arrival, it was beyond dated (think fake Italian restaurant vibes that smelled like old bleach and tears) and poorly kept. We glanced at each other and I even said, “Some of the best places are hole in the wall joints”...boy was I wrong. The drink was watery and the steak was tough and flavorless. The side was most likely from a frozen package and the garlic bread...good gosh, was literally a hoagie, split in half with melted margarine. Somehow this was over $100! The funny part is, had it been worth it, we would have been fine with the price but it was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Chain restaurants are better and that is saying a lot because we hate chain restaurants and want to support local businesses. The driver that picked us up even commented, unprompted with a sneery chuckle. How on earth did a James Beard Chef recommend this place??? History or not, never again.

My guess and I enjoyed Crescent City Steak House as usual. The steaks were prepared to perfection and the old fashions were excellent as well. We very much look forward to our next outing at Crescent City Steak House.

Always a great dining experience! All 4 steaks were perfectly cooked and sides are so reasonable that you can try them all!

Lively environment, very short wait for our reservation. Drinks were tasty, and service was friendly and attentive. Steak and the sides were perfect. Love this place, and we will always be back.

Rare off night for Crescent City but still one of my favorites & will continue going

Our family love steakhouses with history and a story, and Crescent City delivers. A nice experience and we were all very well-fed.

I have eaten here several times and it has been great, but this was not the anniversary dinner I was looking for. The wait for drinks, appetizers and entrees was too long. There were issues with my wife's steak, but we just decided to eat things as they were prepared. We were seated at 7:45 for a 7:30 appt which is fine, but we didn't leave till around 10:30. That's not because we are slow eaters, but because the service was glacial. We will give it another chance in the future, and chalk this up to one bad night.

We've stopped off here for a drink and just fell in love with the place because it's so cute and cozy. The stakes look amazing. We had a cocktail and an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms.

I want to start by saying the food was great, it was not the problem at this restaurant. Our issue started when being told at time of payment that they would not spilt the bill of our 6 person party but they would take up to 5 different cards and we could do the math and separate it ourselves. When I ask a manager if she could spilt it, she walked off and returned with pencil and paper for us to split it ourselves. Just based off our waiters non caring attitude, and the very garbage attitude I won't be suggesting this place to anyone.
