One star is still too many.
The drinks tasted like cleaning detergent.
The burger itself was very bad. You can get it better and cheaper in every McDonald's.
Staff was not interested in a solution because of the drinks. Worst store in 3 weeks USA vacation.

Dat Dog in New Orleans isn’t just a meal—it’s an event. First off, get the Rougarou. It’s a gator sausage that tastes like it wrestled its way out of the bayou just to end up on your plate. The toppings are already chosen for you, and let me tell you, they’re perfect. No customization needed—it’s like they knew exactly what your soul was craving.
But let’s talk about the real experience: the staff. Our server wasn’t just loud—they were downright terrifying in the most entertaining way possible. At one point, they yelled, “MOVE OUTTA THE WAY!” so ferociously that I thought I was about to be evicted from the planet. If they’d had a whistle, I would’ve dropped and done push-ups. It was less “hospitality” and more “boot camp,” but somehow, it was amazing.
Dat Dog isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for people who like their meals with a side of adrenaline and a server who could double as a bouncer. If you can survive the verbal barrage, you’ll walk away with a full belly, a good story, and maybe a slight fear of authority.

Always have to stop at Dat Dog when visiting New Orleans. My hot dog loving husband opted for the a straight up beef dog with mustard, onion and relish. He gave it a five star approval. I tried the Dat Burger with seasoned fries which I just loved. The little person with us enjoyed a kid's slider with tater tots followed by rainbow Dippin' Dots. When walking to our car, she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! That was good!" Enjoyed sitting outside on the patio; lots of seating available. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but as soon as we took a bite we forgot all about it.

This place is a must every time I am in New Orleans. The last time I was there, I saw the Hunger Games' Petah actor (Josh Hutcherson), no joke.

Dat dog is a staple for us. We usually frequent the location on Frenchmen Street but we thought we'd try garden district this time. Even though garden district was a bust dat dog did not disappoint! 10/10 recommend!

It is a very unique place to get a hot dog. The hot dogs are very fancy and have a lot of different condiments on them. I'm sure most people would like them. I'm just not a foodie, so I like basic. I'm sure in the evening on a Friday or Saturday night to the atmosphere would be amazing.

Awesome food and good service. I really enjoyed the food here—super filling, tons of flavors, and lots of really cool options on the menu. The atmosphere is bright and colorful, just like the people; it almost gives off a really fun vibe. Love it

The buns alone make it worth it. But the veggie dogs are super good.
This is for the location on Magazine. My dog was cold when it arrived so I asked for a re-fire. 30 minutes later still hadn’t received it and me and my friend were the only ones there (on a Thursday night). Then we went to close out and there was confusion. “You didn’t get the remade one?” “No,” I said, “just close me out and take off the dog.” Cashier replied “Well it’s done now we will give it to you to go or else it gets thrown away.” I told them I didn’t want it, it was over an hour since my original order was placed. The attitude and eye roll I saw was the frosting on the cake. Not to mention, there was a member of the kitchen staff smoking in the back right where we were sitting. Whole patio smelled like cigarette smoke. I used to love Dat Dog but the overall ennui on a Thursday was disappointing.

I haven't
This is definitely a casual counter service with really nice people who work there.
A friend of mine who visited here from San Francisco recommended I go there and have an alligator sausage.
So I ordered the alligator with the sauce that I don’t remember the name of, but it was delicious. I have to admit that alligator or something that we should try yet it’s probably not my favorite… However, the sausage was well-made and the other options looked very tempting. I wish I had had time to get back there and try some of the other ones.
I loved the variety of toppings that they had available. And it was a really fun selection.
I was impressed with the bun. It wasn’t a typical hotdog bun. It was a very light delicious bun that held up to the sausage that had a uniquely fresh taste.
If I get back to New Orleans, I will absolutely go try some of the other things. This is nice because it is reasonably priced great place to bring people who want to try different things and they have both indoor outdoor seating and I believe they also serve adult soft drinks very family Friendly
