A bit pricy for what it is. And the restroom was so dirty and smelly.

My first alligator sausage, and it was excellent - a tasty and succulent piece!

Dat Dog is a place that is damn good and a reliably fun spot for a meal. The guys working there are super chill, and the eclectic art inside the place makes for a cool, laid-back vibe.
They have a great selection of menu items, with a huge variety of unique hotdogs and gourmet sausages. I took a chance and ordered the Chef's Variety, with a special request for an alligator hotdog - it was really good! It was a fun surprise, and all the dogs are made with great quality.
A definite tip here is to try the Chef's Variety option. It’s a great way to let the staff surprise you with something inventive and delicious.
While not a must-try destination, I can absolutely say this is a super reliable and delicious spot. If you're looking for high-quality, inventive hotdogs and a chill atmosphere, Dat Dog is an excellent choice.

We think the hot dogs here are good. We stop by here every time where in New Orleans BUT the ppl that work here are rude and not friendly…. But to only certain type of people! I don’t understand the problem. First time I dismissed it the second time my husband said where not coming back in here. We loved New Orleans but this place.

Cool staff, good food, great selection, kind of pricey. Sandwich dog and one beer, $50. I also ordered tots that I thought came with it....and there were only like 10 tots. Loved the atmosphere of the staff, music , and art. Got the grilled chicken sandwich and thought it was high on my chicken sandwich list! Quick and even vegetarian options.

Not really sure if this is because I was sober when my husband and I stopped in last night or because the whole vibe has shifted but seriously. The food has gone way down. A chicago dog and a chicken sandwich were not worth the wait. They used to be amazing and now they are just like anywhere else. Blah. And while I am here, the bartender would make BANK if they would actually speak to people. Bought 6 beers total (2 during the wait and 4 to go) and left feeling like a root canal would have been easier to get. Next trip, I will skip over Dat Dog and go spend money anywhere else.

Had the allegator sausage. Really good. Lots of toppings. Service was a little slow for us. A few people got their food before us but still wasnt bad. Other options on the menu looked good but just didn't get back to try them. Recommend trying the different foods
