Dietary restrictions: They’ve got a clear labelling system in their menu to help manage dietary restrictions which is super helpful.

Would rate higher than five stars if it were possible. Loved everything about this place from the location to food and atmosphere. The service was top-notch!

This is the perfect after evening out spot where vegans and omni's can grab a great dog, some tots, and a beer. A good time was had by all, the vegan brat was incredible! I HIGHLY suggest this spot. Dat dog, you can bet I'll be back!

Vegetarian options: Three vegan dog options.

Grace is amazing! We stumbled upon this place just looking for some late night food. Everyone here was so welcoming, and Grace went above and beyond. I will be back anytime I'm in NOLA.

Great late night hot dogs with a New Orleans twist. Gator hot dog is something you must have once in a lifetime. Service was a bit slow as it was very crowded.

The food never disappoints however the service and atmosphere at this location is lacking. At no point during the five or so minutes we stood looking over the menu did they inform us (with two kids) that they were out of all kids options aside from grilled cheese. Guess what my kids didn’t pick the first go round? There is also no seating for parties larger than four without being split up.

Kid-friendliness: If they’re out off all but one kids menu item then they should tell guests arriving with kids as they’re looking over the menu.

They have an incredible variety of different meats, from alligator and crawfish to beef and chicken. Their toppings are abundant and their tater tots are crispy and perfectly seasoned. Try out this fun little place while you're visiting Frenchmen!

Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and they were able to make my dog lettuce wrapped. They did a full glove change to protect against cross contamination.

First spot I hit up in NOLA didn't disappoint! The atmosphere was amazing. I loved the open patio and bar. All the staff was super friendly and the menu was so unique and interesting. I got the etouffee dog, and it was out of this world! Fries were super crispy and they give you a ton of them. I also grabbed the black berry mule, and it was super stout. I'd definitely hang out here on the regular if I lived in the area!

I visited Dat Dog with my wife twice and I have to say the food is very good.
Don’t expect a fancy place, but it is perfect if you are hungry and you want to have a good hot dog.
In addition, I really suggest to order and go upstairs. You can seat on the balcony and see all Frenchman street.

Far superior to the Uptown location. The bun was slightly sweet, the dog was charred to perfection, and the pickle was spot on. Chicago Dog. Also, my pink lemonade vodka slushy was amazing. Big ups

Picture this: it’s a warm evening in New Orleans, and I’m strolling down Freret Street when the neon sign for Dat Dog calls my name. The vibrant colors, the hum of laughter, and the smell of sizzling sausages – it’s a scene that promises pure indulgence.

I’m no stranger to spice, so naturally, I go all in with the spicy chipotle dog. One bite in, and it’s like my taste buds have struck gold. The snap of that juicy sausage is the first clue that I’m in for something amazing. The chipotle brings a smoky kick that’s intense without being overwhelming, balanced perfectly by the toppings piled high – creamy, tangy, and with just enough crunch. It’s the kind of flavor explosion that only New Orleans can deliver.

Each bite has me hooked, and by the end, I’m convinced that Dat Dog is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a spice lover or just looking for the best dog in town, trust me – Dat Dog knows what they’re doing. Here’s to one unforgettable bite!
