A staple of the nice, casual dining around New Orleans. The food is excellent and the feel is homey. It's an easy drive and there is sufficient parking in the area. On nights with a wait, the space is accommodating and you can get drinks on your tab.

One of my favorite uptown restaurants. Just about every dish is good. Good for date night as well.

The service was excellent and the fried green tomatoes with shrimp romaloude was fabulous, as well as the oyster fritters and crawfish beignets.

One can empathize with owner's panic in dealing with a New Year's Eve crowd, a new online reservation system, and a waitress (ours) who was apparently drunk or zapped on some type of CNS depressant, but compassion has its limits. Our three course dinner took almost three hours to complete and that was not due to the scintillating conversation. The dinner was based on a set menu with a limited number of options to complicate the production. Several diners became frustrated at the wait and asked for their check after waiting for an hour or more to get an appetizer. Another cursed aloud. The pity of it was that there food, though lukewarm to cold, was scrumptious. For that we anted up $145 for two which included all of two beers. The owner was apologetic and I felt for him, but at some point one wondered if one of the patrons was going to go postal. Luckily no violence took place. Happy New Year.

This will not be a repeat for us. The food was mediocre and the service so sloooooow. We tried to eat fried calamari, fried oysters, a caprese type salad and the Duck confit. We are from Los Angeles so may just not be our thing...

Ate dinner tonight with a group of friends tonight and it was incredible. The food was so tasty and perfect. I had the drum and my friends ordered a variety of other dishes from the menu. Sammy was our server and he made the night. Super fun guy that was very attentive and on top of his game. I love this place because it’s a local’s place that does quality Louisiana cooking the right way!

AMAZING spot for a special night. The food will NOT disappoint. Great seafood, great meat, great attention to detail with a fancy, yet comfortable vibe. 11/1o recommend.

I had a suspicion when I saw the name Chef Merlin describing his crab cake, that this was the chef from La Thai which used to be on Prytania. I have always liked his cooking so I was glad to see that he did indeed now own this restaurant. We started with the fried calamari and one of the specials, crawfish beignets. Calamari was very good, fried crispy and not oily with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The Crawfish beignets were excellent. I then had the Crab Three Ways, which was his signature dish at La Thai. Also, very good. My friend had the seafood etouffee with fried catfish. I am very critical about etouffee, but his was very good and I would have that next time if it was available. The menu is small, but I think it is better to do a few dishes well than try to take on too much and have failures. I am sure he is just trying to get himself situated on this new venture. I hope he has success!

Waited 2 hours before we even got our appetizers and when we ordered wine and cocktails, it took an hour to get them and they came at 20 minutes apart, so a couple had wine and others had none. Very disappointing and my entree was so tiny and salty. Never again.

A great place for a date. Staffs are friendly and atmosphere is quite and cozy. But this place is not for foodie. The food is expensive and not as great.
