Cool atmosphere, bad management
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The ambiance is chill and the music is always good, but the staff is undesirable. I have chosen this location for my birthday for the past three years, bringing in a group of at least 20 people. I had a cake with me and was told we are not allowed to have food in there, which isn't stated on the website, but if we called, we could have had it in this room off to the side. I asked if we could go in that room since it was empty and was...read full review
Great drinks, awesome music. They need to work on their wait staff as they are not very accommodating. Ordered 3 old fashions while there snd each one was different. First no orange or cherry, 2nd orange snd cherry, 3rd orange no cherry. It’s a little thing but for cost of drink this shouldn’t happen. When I inquired to waitress about it she was unconcerned. Still a great place but needs some fine tuning

Double Dealer Bar is a hidden gem and a classy, unique spot tucked away downstairs, offering a peaceful escape from the big crowds of Bourbon and Canal Streets. The atmosphere is perfect, with creative and original decor featuring vaudeville flourishes, curtains, and intimate two-person booths where privacy is guaranteed. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and what you’d hope for from a speakeasy, often enhanced by amazing live music at just the right volume.
The bar serves a great menu of unique, delicious classic cocktails made well and with care, including special infusions. Bartenders are skilled and can make anything, though some note cocktail pricing can be a bit high for New Orleans. The staff is generally friendly, attentive, and terrific, with ownership that goes above and beyond. A unique feature is the private booth system with a red light to signal for service, though one visit reported this being ignored. It can get busy and is sometimes booked for private events, but it is a must-visit local's treat and the ideal spot to go after dinner.
