I was pleasantly surprised. I had not been in since renovations had taken place. I looks great. The service was very good and the food was excellent. I did not know I was having a new addition to the menu. I will most assuredly return. Looking to host a large gathering there at some point.

Lunched with a friend, both of us NOLA natives. LOVED THIS PLACE! Staff could not have been friendlier, food could not have been better, restaurant was comfortable and well decorated. We will be back! I had Thursday special with just awesome greens, fried chicken and cornbread. Companion had a shrimp poor boy that was hot, crisp and overflowing with shrimp. Such a wonderful find - heard about this place forever and so glad we finally got there.

New to the area so I'm still trying to find my go to for fish and chicken. Came across this place and wanted to try. Ordered 2 chicken wings and a catfish and shrimp combo. The chicken was delightful. Absolutely moist and flavorful. Now the bad news. Everything else was horrible. The red beans and rice was watery and no flavor. The Mac and Cheese was just a lump of pasta with a lot of oil coming from it. The shrimp had a funky taste to it but the catfish was at least edible. Best fried chicken I've had so far in Louisiana but other things need work.

Great atmosphere, very friendly and professional staff, extremely clean, nice relaxing music and EXCELLENT food! Definitely would recommend and will be back again

Very good Customer Service. The food was outstanding

We visited this establishment today on our second day in New Orleans. We seated ourselves and were promptly brought menus by our welcoming waitress. We ordered the strawberry lemonade which was delicious. For lunch we chose to split a plate of barbecue ribs, potato salad, and yams. The food promptly came out and was pretty tasty. The potato salad was definitely the best dish! After we were done, one of the waitresses even brought up our sack bag we forgot on the chair! I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. It is also a plus that it’s black family owned!

Food was good. Placed a takeout order on website through postmates. The order was accepted and I was informed it would be ready in 20 minutes. 15 minutes into the process I was informed the order was canceled. I had to call and place my order again on the phone. Phone calling is recommended.

A great spot for Creole style Soul food....Dunbar's has added new entrees which offers more selections....Highly recommended!!!!

I had a good experience at Dunbar's the food was delicious. I had the fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious. My husband had the smothered cabbage, fried chicken and yams. The yams were the star of the plate! Now the down side was the wait time. Everyone was really nice but it was very slow. The nice server did explain that new staff was starting the next week. The manager did come and thanked us for our patience and gave us a free dessert. She was so nice! We will definitely be back and I would recommend Dunbar's to anyone if there looking for some real New Orleans Soul Food!

Good food at a reasonable price. Nice seating spacing and high ceilings for open air feel.

Great food and staff was very friendly. The 5th star is coming but currently due to covid they were short handed so things werent as fast as we wanted but still the delicious food is worth the wait. I will be going back
