Ye Olde College Inn Reviews
Had the most delightful time with our server, Sarah on Sunday evening. These days, it’s a stretch to get a pleasant person taking your orders. She was bright, happy , very attentive and just made our time enjoyable. She’s also studying at be a Nurse and we spoke about her future! John…she’s a keeper for sure. The food was great as always:..
Amazing special entree of grilled redfish over bacon risotto and an Italian cream red sauce over the fish. College Inn also has great options for gluten free needs!!very attentive to food allergies and sensitivities! Fun atmosphere- you always know other people there!
Was very nice...no wait with reservation. My plate was outstanding...my husband loves the gumbo but the veal was deep fried...he would have preferred pan fried with a lighter coating. The bread pudding was excellent!!!

Ye Olde College Inn is a popular spot in New Orleans, known for its delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Guests often enjoy the best shrimp poboy in the city and flavorful seafood gumbo loaded with seafood. The food is consistently good, with desserts like bread pudding being a highlight. Customers praise the Steak Frites, brisket with Brussels sprouts, and Steak Caesar Salad, all cooked perfectly. The restaurant feels welcoming, like visiting a friend's home, with great bar service and no long waits. It offers comforting, down-home food at a good price, making guests feel at home and always welcome. The service is friendly and attentive. The menu features appetizers like onion rings, spinach and seafood dip with chips, crab meat, and French bread. Entrees such as Braised Beef brisket, which is tender and flavorful, and Crawfish Delacroix with tasty drum fish are highly recommended. The brisket dish is especially praised for being so delicious and tender, while the veal cutlet is crispy and as good as remembered. The roast beef poboy is large and perfectly done. For dessert, the Fried bread pudding poboy is a standout, described as beyond delish. The restaurant also supports Angels' Place, adding to its charm.
