“Booked BABs on a whim as part of a quick getaway to NOLA. Was not disappointed! Creative mocktail and cocktail menu. Wonderful beer and wine list. Appetizers were heavenly and exquisite. Entrees were fresh and delicious, while being new takes on American cuisine. Staff was eager to please while not being snide or fake. Opinions were honest and questions were thoroughly answered. We're very guarded of our New Orleans meals when we visit. I won't hesitate to book Bywater American Bistro on our next trip!“

“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.“

The Black Manhattan is excellent — except is was stirred long enough so it was nearly lukewarm when brought to the table. Great flavor, but disappointed at how warm it was. (An extra point for Luxardo cherries. Seriously. How can a restaurant claim they serve cocktails if they don’t use Luxardo cherries????)“

“I visited Ralph's for brunch on my birthday and had a lovely time. It is in a great location with views of the park. It also has an abundance of free parking, which is a perk in New Orleans. We ordered the truffle fries and cajun hash as appetizers and the city park breakfast as our entrees, all of which were excellent. The staff brought me a triple chocolate cherry mousse with a candle for my birthday, which was a thoughtful extra touch. 10/10 experience.“

“We went here on a Saturday night without a reservation at the recommendation of a friend since we were just in New Orleans for one night with our kids. We were sat right away and had amazing service with 2 waitstaff and they made great recommendations and we loved all our food! Here is a review of what we got: the alligator was fried in a batter and covered with a sauce that was flavorful without being spicy. the gumbo was hot and fresh with tender meat and rice, the rabbit and dumplings was almost like a pot pie without the crust and very good and filling, the short ribs left something to be desired as they were very peppery and a bit tough and advertised with shrimp and green beans but that was more of a garnish than anything of substance (it is an appetizer so we didn’t expect full portions but it was just a few tiny pieces). Had a drink from the bar that I don’t remember the name of but it was the waiter’s recommendation and very good! Definitely recommend and would go again next time we are in NOLA“

She asked if they had a table for one while she attended and they said sure. Miss Colleen was excellent in serving and suggesting menu plates. After working a week of nights I capped it off with an exquisite dinner of crab salad and halibut with Brussels sprouts that illicit my palate to a frenzy-not to mention the banana spilt with banana bread (yes that’s right banana bread). “We stumbled into Iacovone and for a moment thought we had come into the wrong place. The restaurant is a hole in a wall that looks so decrepit from the outside, only the "Open" sign convinced me that it was actually a working restaurant. Then, when you walk in, there were two small plastic tables with a few plastic chairs. So it's then a little jarring at the counter to look at the menu of the day and see serious food for prices that are extremely reasonable for serious food (but still more than you have ever paid in a place that has a bit of an eating in a Subway feel to it). But don't let that dissuade you. Because this is indeed incredible food at very reasonable prices, and the advantage of being in a tiny hole in the wall is that you almost can't help but chat with the Chef/Owner/Sole Employee who has a great story to tell about his journey through the food world and his love for New Orleans. Iacovone was the last restaurant we visited on a three week vacation across multiple countries where we ate incredibly well. It was a fitting last stop. Make sure to give it a try on your next visit to the Crescent City.“

“Had an event here on Feb 27th for a group of about 70. The space was decorated wonderfully for Mardi Gras and the staff did everything they could to make the event a success. The food was great and there was plenty of it . We will be back ! Thank you Bamboulas!“
