Saw some salads and they have a list of po-boys. Small location you can actually watch them make the food but the place is spotless and has convenient restrooms. Friendly staff.“
“This Waffle House has by far been one of the best I've been to in a while. The staff here was friendly, helpful and happy, from the cook to the bus boy. We had a mini crisis when my daughter got a bloody nose and they all jumped in to help. They seemed to work in harmony with each other. This was also a very clean waffle house, the grill area was not looking all nasty and the floors were clean and mopped.Kid-friendliness: They were very friendly and understanding, my daughter is special needs and they did a great job with her.“
“My husband and I don't come here often, but when we do, it's for bike night. It's really fun to come hang out and look at all the different types of motorcycles, and the drink/food prices are very reasonable. It's also a kid and dog friendly spot during bike night. There are picnic tables outside the bar to hang out, and the crowd is usually a little older and easy-going.“
“My daughter and I had lunch on November 6th at noon. The man who greeted us was fantastic. Immediately happy we were there. Two ladies were also working and the three were working so well together and all helped us. The wings were phenomenal! I have never had this level of perfection in my Thai Curry Wings!! “We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.“
“We loved it so much we went back the next day! I had the muffuletta and it was the best I’ve ever had. The homemade chips are so good to with a sandwich. My son and husband and son both had the Cuban and said it was amazing. We ordered Mac n cheese.. amazing. Deep fried ribs were delicious but only got 3 so for $15 so that’s the only somewhat negative thing I have to say. Loved the open air atmosphere and service was great! Don’t miss out on this one.“
