So glad I finally tried this Mexican spot! My Yelp BFF and I love Mexican food and this place has been on our list for some time now. Very cute vibe and a nice ambiance. Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating, perfect place to hang when the weather is nice. You order your food and drinks at the bar and they will bring it you. I ordered the house margarita, elote (corn), fish taco and a birria taco. The wait was not long and the service was great. The House margarita was just ok, it got the job done though. All of my food was good but the standout was the fish taco. That was the best fish taco I've ever had, and I've had plenty of fish tacos lol. It was made from red fish and seasoned to perfection! I will definitely be back soon. Great location on Tchoupitoulas but there is not a parking lot and very few spots in front the building so be prepared to park on a side street.

I went here today to try since I haven't been. My friend and I sat at the bar. Hate that I didn't get his name but the guy behind the bat was so friendly and provided top notch customer service! We ordered the limeade, which was freshly made and was so good. I ordered the birria, chicken mole, and crane asada tacos. My favorite by far was the chicken mole. It had a sweet taste to it and I added the spicy salsa! Definitely will be going back to try more food.

Went to El Cucuy on a Tuesday and to our surprise it was empty. We had a short wait in the line but the server offered to take our order in line if we were ready. Neither my friend or myself tried this place before so we opted to just wait to place the order. The person taking the orders attitude could have been better but she could have possibly had an off day. The seating area is very dark but it doesn't mess with the vibe. The food was really good but the Birria taco....not really sure what it was supposed to be but please skip if you're thinking it's going to be the traditional Birria with the broth, so needless to say I was very disappointed. The nachos were amazing, like really good. Whatever that cheese is is a good time. The margarita's, were ok. I would definitely give this place another try.

Spent a GORGEOUS Sunday afternoon with my husband and in-laws here. We were all wowed We got the dip trio and that was some of the freshest, best guacamole I've had in a while. I got chicken nachos which were yummy and filling but need more crema! Never enough lol I wasn't a huge fan of my michelada but I think it was the beer I picked. The bartender was so apologetic and offered another drink. I didn't take him up on it but the fact that he offered and wanted to make it right goes a long way. Zach got three tacos: pollo asado, pork pibil, y birria. He said he hasn't had a birria taco that good since our honeymoon in Mexico. That is some HIGH praise. Zach's a hard guy to impress food-wise. I really liked this place. Go try it! I'm dying to go back. The vibe was quirky goth and I loved it.

There is never a bad dish or drink here. My favs are the shrimp quesadilla, the nopales tacos, and the happy hour specials ? ?This place is a MUST GO TO in New Orleans, it is typically one of our first stops (we have been coming here since my husband and i were dating and that was damn near 8 years ago). Did I mention that the outdoor seating is both kid and dog friendly????Everything there is delicious. GO NOW.Vegetarian options: The Nopales are killer!!!Kid-friendliness: Large yard for kids to run around in.

It's hard to order a drink. Ling wait after ordering too. Otherwise, it's a great place.

The food was very small portions of meat in my sandwich and my wife's . The menu wasn't updated and had multiple items that we wanted that weren't offered anymore. Our food took forever to arrive and final plate took so long we just asked for it to go and went down the street to order our food . The place has a lot of plants outside but inside there is lots satanic stuff and just not a place where we will be returning.

Welcoming bar with delicious food. We ordered cocktails with the nopales nachos and tacos. All excellent, served by the very accommodating bartender doing waiter duty. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a low key place for drinks with good food.
