Service is outstanding, prices are reasonable and food is fantastic! Ceviche was perfect and queso was best I've ever eaten. Our table was served fish tacos- fresh and filling, cheese, poblano and chicken enchiladas-full of flavor and made to order, chicken tacos- out of this world. Dessert was a moist rum cake and Mexican Mousse. You can't go wrong here.

An awesome place. Friendly, cozy, almost home like. Free seasoned popcorn that has you wanting more, but your food is quickly ready and you can't wait to eat because it looks delicious. You will not be disappointed.

Totally awesome little bar and restaurant. The food was outstanding ( Cheese and Pablano Enchiladas, Queso is a must). The Jamaica was the best I have had in the US.Pleasant wait staff and a delightful atmosphere.
El Pavo is the true definition of a neighborhood New Orleans restaurant. The food was some of the best Mexican/Latin American food I've ever had. The empanadas were delicious, as were the plantains in mole sauce. I had the fish tacos for dinner, and the fish wasn't anything special; it was good, don't get me wrong, but the way the tacos were dressed, in addition to the sauces, really made these fish tacos something special. I ate dinner with three other people and their reaction to the food was the same as mine. Hands down, I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans or if you have lived there for years and have never heard of it.

I grew up in iowa where everybody farms pork. And I live in colorado where every third restaurant is Mexican. And I'm 73. And these people serve the best carnitas I've ever eaten. Magnificent.
It's been four years but I still remember this place. I think I went to this place at least four times when I stayed nearby during my visit to New Orleans. It was fantastic each time.

Not really what I expected. I used to come here once every other month last year. Feels like the food just kind of lost its touch. Some of it doesn’t really feel as good as it used to be.Our host wasn’t even really that friendly or attentive to our table as they should’ve been. We weren’t even greeted as soon as we walked in we were told how many and that was it.Please don’t order the churros that was really bad something that I never thought anybody could mess up so easily. Churros are way too much cinnamon and the sauce felt like it was just the entire shot of rum.

This is the best Mexican food in town- and possibly outside Mexico. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful! Dining here is a MUST!
