We were in town for my Moms 70th birthday and we made the reservation by mistake not knowing it was for a Thursday night when it was Sunday and immediately cancelled WITHIN AN HOUR of making it. Kat the assistant manager has refused to refund us despite knowing all this. Even though we don't live in New Orleans and cannot make it back to rebook. Never been treated like this at a restaurant. If the management acts like this I can't imagine how they treat people inside.

I’ve been to Etoile twice now and I am impressed by the amazing food, the tasting menu concept, and the careful and intelligent wine pairings with each course. The wine is not “round up the usual suspects” (Casablanca, 1942). The service is polite, friendly, and discreet. Etoile is also sensitive to food allergies and with enough advance notice (48 hours) will do its best to be flexible. This would be a Michelin 1 or 2 star restaurant when New Orleans gets star ratings. It’s as good as any restaurant in Manhattan, London, or Paris that costs 2 to 3 times more.
The decor is beautiful and understated in a large Victorian/Edwardian house. There is nothing “cold” about it as one reviewer alleged. I can be harsh critic of restaurants but I am at a loss to find anything that is not worth a 5 star review.

We loved Etoile and had an amazing dining experience. The restaurant is very nice and the staff is friendly and welcoming. You can walk around before dinner starts and see the kitchen and their herb garden and whatever staff is around will stop and talk to you. The meal itself was outstanding and the service was great. The chef comes out and talks to you and it is clear he loves what he does and is very thankful for dining with them. I wish I had taken some pictures but we were enjoying the meal so much I forgot. Very impressed and will definitely be back soon!

What an amazing night and experience! If you’re looking to make zero decisions and have an amazing meal, this is definitely the place. Chef Chris has curated an enjoyable tasting menu that allows you to experience each course in a way that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. The food focuses on French cooking techniques and sourcing from local farms as much as possible. It was a beautiful balance. For example, the Seared Red Snapper tonight was paired with a fried egg and crispy okra - providing a fabulous balance of flavors and textures. The chef also makes a point to come out and check on guests throughout the coursing. The rest of the staff are personable and make sure you have an amazing experience. When I return to NOLA, I will definitely be back.

We had a great time! The service was awesome, everyone was so kind and thoughtful. Drinks were great. Food was great. I think the portions could actually be smaller, with stronger flavors. We were SO full! But overall a wonderful dinner!

The food was phenomenal. Everything tasted incredible and I love that the menu changes based on what’s in season, it really shows in the quality. It’s great to see a place that sticks to a true farm-to-table approach. The staff were awesome. Everyone was friendly and made us feel really welcome. The music was great! The only thing that felt off was the atmosphere. The dining room (and entire home in general) felt cold and empty, which took away from the otherwise warm experience. It needs more coziness or personality to match the food and service in my opinion. Still, I’d absolutely come back. The food alone is worth it.

It's a great place! I really liked the chef's idea of using great local ingredients and not overly complicating the dish. You don't feel rushed, the ambience is nice and they did a good job with the wine pairing.
This is definitely a place to go if you want to have a great time, take your time and enjoy the food and the company you're with.

This is an exceptional dining experience. The dining room is beautifully appointed. The food was delicious and the pacing of the meal was fabulous. The wine pairings were well thought out. What really made the evening, however, was the service. Everyone who works there is delightful. Special mention should go to the bartenders who are fun, engaging, and making elite drinks.

My wife and I went on an anniversary date! We loved the ambience and service was amazing! Great concept and excellent food - attention to detail was impeccable. We thought the desserts could be better though- more elevated. Highly recommend this place for a romantic date night!
Amazing experience! Everything was phenomenal, and the attention to detail unparalleled. Even the butter was star shaped. I cannot recommend Etoile enough.
Had my birthday dinner here and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Service, food, wine pairings, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Highly recommended for a special occasion!
Overall, Etoile was fantastic. I dined here with my family for my birthday and the chef came out occasionally to ask us about the food and let us know how he made some dishes. I wasn’t expecting to get full, but the timed portions made the meal filling overtime as well as palette satisfying. The dessert was good, needs a bit more flare to it though. I recommend coming here.
Perfect romantic date night spot. Phenomenal meal in an old world setting. Loved every bite.
