You can literally close your eyes and point to something on the menu, and you are gonna go home happy and stuffed. My fav the Veal Parm hands down. If you don't like it here, then you probably weren't born with taste buds and you eat Lasagna from Costco.

We arrived and we're not only welcomed with open arms but treated like royalty. We had the muffuletta and the grilled snapper. Uh mah gawd!! Delish! The owner Frank is amazing. Our server Kathy was perfection! The staff is clearly happy. Definitely stop here!!

Way over priced and food is not very good. I’ve been here twice now, trying to give it a second chance, but it was still pretty bad. BBQ shrimp creole is probably really good to a local but gosh it’s was extremely difficult to eat, came with no sides it was quite lackluster even though it LOOKS good. Chicken Alfredo tasted like straight black pepper, and really needed some garlic salt or something to give it some flavor. Feels like sitting in a dive bar and a restaurant at the same time, but not in a good way. We won’t be back. They were nice enough to take off the Alfredo since my party found it unappealing. We ended up sharing the shrimp among the table so we could hurry up and leave, our friend that ordered it bought something later on to satisfy himself. Drink refills are not free either. The staff was nice and the place was clean. The menu desperately needs some side dishes. Maybe a vegetable or two.

I will not eat there cause when I order a cannoli she made my desert with her hands she didn’t even try to put gloves on
At first glance Frank’s looks like a great place. Small, cozy dining down stairs, open high ceilings upstairs and an amazing little balcony. We were seated upstairs. Our server, Scotty arrives at our table to get our drink orders. His hands were filthy. Looked as if he just finished repairing an engine. Brought over dirty cups and a pitcher of water from another table for us to drink from! The pitcher was disgusting. He commented that the lemon seed wouldn’t hurt anyone. But the dirt in the bottom of the pitcher might! Luckily someone else brought our drinks in foam cups and brought our food. He then brings my husband a USED napkin. Literally wet and stained, crumpled up in his hand. Our group thought we were being pranked. Was this a test? No, this is how everyone was served while we were there. Nasty!

Prices were very high considering the extremely average Italian food. Pasta was poorly drained so dishes were watered down, pasta was over cooked and everything that should come with a $30 plate was extra. No salad, no garlic break, drink refills were $2. Wait staff was not polite, kinda rude if you ask me and then they forced a 22% tip on your bill. Much better places to eat in New Orleans.

Waitress was extremely rude. When placing food on table she dropped it on the table. Didn’t as who got what. Just walked off and left us to switch our plates. No refills on drinks that was priced extremely high. We were a large group and tip was automatically included in price so she could care less about the service she was giving. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We went to Franks for their Muffalatta and were disappointed. While we were last here 5 years ago and satisfied, the sandwich was large and pricy but unimpressive. We asked for it to be hot, and lukewarm with cold bread is what we got. I’d go somewhere else.

Ordered the po boy was not great. Two sausages on bread. No real flavor. Service was the worst. The two waitresses were impolite. They would show up with the plates and hang them in the air waiting for us to distribute them to the table. They jacked up the price of everything claiming it was a special event. Forced a $27 tip on the bill. Don't go here avoid at all costs!!!!!

Stopped in looking for an authentic, NO, muffuletto. Boy, we got that and a whole lot more! So much ambiance and the nicest staff.
The food is awesome and the beer is cold. If we make it back here, Frank's will be a must!

If you're looking for real deal family Italian be sure and visit Franks down on Decatur. I went for dinner there and had a great time. They don't rush you and better yet it wasn't crowded or noisy. The staff took time to chat but didnt linger. Super friendly and polite, Brenda and Leona both deserve a raise!
Here's the deal, if you're looking for somewhere fancy, this is not it . Take yo a$$ on uptown and go to some big box Italian chain store with snooty waiters. But, if you want small, quiet, cozy, a full bar, good service, reasonable prices and some kick a$$ Sicilian entrees, come on.
They have street dining as well as an upstairs dining area. It's quaint but they know their dishes well. Family run since 1965 Frank Gagliano opened on Decatur Street. When his sons came of age the operation expanded to a full menu restaurant. One of the brothers left a few years to open his own restaurant, Ristorante Filippo in Metairie.
Food was great and full on authentic Sicilian. I had a salad, 2X garlic bread, lasagna and pretty much a whole bottle of wine. I think I was there about two hours enjoying the best dinner Ive had in NOLA in quite a long time. Really fun, fun dinner.
Thanks to Brenda, Leona and the folks in the back of the house. Love you guys long time. See you next visit!
