The food is great and the service is good...provided you don't arrive within an hour of closing. If you do, you will likely be told they are out of rice, fish, water, etc. I waited tables through college and I get that people who come in 10 minutes before a restaurant closes are the worst, but the staff here shuts down seating earlier than anywhere I've ever known. A Japanese restaurant in the city with a very good value for money and one of the few restaurants that is actually run by a Japanese sushi chef. It has been open for almost 30 years and the chef is very experienced. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh. (Let me tell you a secret: they restock every Friday and Saturday.) Place is usually jumping and there's a good reason. Huge menu but they maintain high quality. If you want high end sashimi or some funky rolls they have you covered. Great spot.
