Wow best snow ball I have ever had. Never would have thought of sweetened condensed milk in a snow ball would be so AMAZING. Fast as they can friendly service. Ok the building is 85 years old don't expect much yet loved this place.

Incredible! Never even heard of a sno-ball until I started researching places for my trip to NOLA. So glad I got to try one. In my opinion it was better than Hawaiian Shave Ice.

Oh my sno-goodness! Hansen's Sno-Bliz is a must! Just reminiscing from a trip years ago and can't wait to return!!

Stood in the rain in a super long line for my first try of Hansen's and I'd travel the world and do it again any time

I saw this on Netflix and visited twice! You could definitely taste the difference with their shaved ice and the syrups. The staff is super friendly and helpful...Worth the wait and visit!

When you're in New Orleans, be sure to hit up the person behind the front desk at your hotel at least once after check-in and before check-out to ask what the best place to grab a snowball (Sno-ball? Up in the air...) is. And if you're lucky, there will be two people behind the front desk, so they can have a fierce debate about it. My decision was made after hearing that Hansen's gave you a souvenir cup with your sno-ball. It was 90+ degrees the entire time we were in NOLA. Without taking the humidity into consideration. So it came as no surprise that the first thing our Uber driver said to us was "Hansen's? I could really use a sno-ball today too!" (We invited her to join us but she declined because of the sugar content. Which... fair.) Plan and time your visit well. Hansen's is a little out of the way and is guaranteed to have a line. I found myself awkwardly craning my neck at times to catch the shade. It's a tiny mom-and-pop place (it's been in the Hansen family for three generations) and the fans inside won't do much to cool you down until you take your first bite of a sno-ball. It tastes nothing like shaved ice. The texture is softer -- truly snowlike. I got satsuma (a tart citrusy flavor that you'll find on the menu of many NOLA institutions, whether edible or in candle form) and cream of earl grey. I could barely taste the earl grey, so I think I should've gotten another flavor, but the satsuma was heavenly.

I saw online they were open yesterday (Friday) and when I went back to see if they were open today(Saturday)it said they were temporarily closed. I messaged them on instagram to double check if that was accurate and they responded letting me know that they were open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-6. So unfortunate this is my first time here and was so excited to try them just for them to not be open when I got there.

Legendary. Kind of a snowcone snowball icee fanatic here. And there is talk about naming a new flavor combo after my own invention. The West TX SweetTooth - Vanilla Bean, Bubblegum, and Cream of Root Beer. You're welcome.

Extremely cheap and flavorful. What more could you ask for? Can't go wrong with any of the cream options. Ask the staff for recs. A few big benches to sit on outside on the side of the building. Add condensed milk to anything you

I can't express how much I love this place! It really reminded me of the shaved ice I had in Maui. So refreshing to eat in hot NOLA weather. They use real fruit and natural ingredients and not food coloring. We tried cream of almond, cream of earl gray, passion fruit, hibiscus and cream of peach and they were all absolutely delicious. You can get up to three flavors which is also a plus. Must try when you're visiting NOLA!!

Worth the drive to hit this spot. Snow balls are delicious and such fun flavors. Still using original equipment to make our sweet treat. I went with the recommendation and LOVED IT. Glad I don't live near Hansens. I'd be there everyday. Highly recommend
