Went here for dessert and coffee after stuffing ourselves at another establishment. Love that about The Big Easy where you can restaurant/ bar hop all you want because they have late hours and are always friendly. (Makes it very easy to gain weight and get tipsy.) My cousin likes this place because unlike its fancy older brother Antoine which is just next door, Hermes does not require a dinner jacket or long pants. He wanted us to experience one of the big 3 French restaurants so we gladly obliged! We went for the bread pudding. I'm not even that big of a bread pudding fan, but I'm definitely a fan of theirs! It had a nice presentation and consistency, firm and smooth so your fork glides through, not like soggy bread in cream sauce that flops around. The baked Alaska was pretty good and comes with a generous cup of chocolate sauce so you can decide whether to drizzle or drown it but didn't wow me like the bread pudding. Actually the chocolate sauce was good on the bread pudding! Darn I forgot our server's name but he was young and friendly and gave us great leads on where to listen to jazz. Another great NOLA experience!

So this place is actually highly recommended. Went for happy hour. Staff were great friendly. Nice old French decor.Drinks were good. We ordered 2 items. The shrimp on the happy hour menu was fantastic. But we shared a Gumbo. Very disappointed. Sauce/broth was very good But where was the shrimp oysters and crab? And the bread was a soft airy non descriptive thing. No flavour or texture. I thought Antoine’s was French high end cuisine. Won’t go back. I mentioned my disappointment And didn’t get much of a response.

Tried out the happy hour here on a recent trip to NOLA. We arrived just after 4 pm, when happy hour started, and the bar was packed. Luckily, we found a couple seats available at the bar. Service was great, despite the packed bar. Drinks were good and the appetizers were on point. Loved all appetizers we had, which included: shrimp remoulade, onion petals, andouille sausage, and one chicken cordon bleu slider. The food was well seasoned and delicious. We were also served complimentary bread/a baguette, that was delicious. Definitely made this into a nice meal for us, and a less expensive option than dining at Antoine's. Recommend the happy hour for your NOLA adventures!

This was a great spot for a bottle of wine and some good food. Randall at the bar took great care of my friend and I as we tried a few appetizers and some Pompano. The Chargrilled Oysters were delicious and the Pompano was light and well prepared. The soufflé potatoes- those were a miss, no seasoning and served with what I think was a butter that had some parsley but no seasoning. Overall a great find and the oldest family owned restaurant in the country as it is attached to Antoine’s.

Disappointing. Service was absolutely terrible last night. We wanted to eat at the restaurant (Antoine's) but got there around 8:40 and they told us they can't serve us unless we eat at the bar. Who closes so early on a Friday?! Anyways, we went to the bar and ordered food. We ordered a bowl of soup, they brought a cup instead. We ordered the waygu steak and instead we got the filet with vin. We asked them when they brought the stake if that was the waygu as it didn't look right and they said yes. We tasted it and we knew it wasn't. We went again to the bartenders and asked what they ordered for us and they finally admitted the mistake. They brought us the waygu a few minutes later and IT WAS almost COLD. What the heck?! That's a $75 stake! When I first sat at the bar, there were crumbles all over the place from a previous person, I moved them myself with my hand and the bartender just looked at me and didn't bother to clean them. It was beyond disappointing!

As soon as we sat down the server brought us menus and took our drink order. As I opened my menu a roach fell out of it and ran across the table into my lap and. I know the French Quarters has many different types of bugs and rodents. I know establishments fight to keep them away, but I don't need to see a roach run across my lap. After that incident we decided to pass on ordering food. The drinks we received were good, but we won't be returning.

What a Great place to go and have a full service fine dining experience without the fussy dress code. Desire, Shai, and Ally worked well as a team and even with a completely full bar area handled perfectly. I can't wait to move back and make this my go to spot. It has all of the viewing of the antics and shenanigans of Burbon Street with the quiet and safety of not being on it.We of course had to get all of the Classics: Soufflé Potatoes, Seafood Gumbo, Oysters Rockafeller and Char-Grilled, and for the Finally The Baked Alaska! If you're with friends, get the BIG ONE as opposed to the Individual, you'll thank me later. One more item that we had was the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders, if they're on the menu, I highly suggest them. I didn't look at the menu while seated. It was only afterwards my friend said the Château was avaliable. It's a steal, a Filet for 2 - 3 (20oz) Cooked and sliced with 2 sauces and Brabant Potatoes with Mushrooms. But this is on the list for my next trip.Again, there is no dress code to have a Grand True NOLA Experience, which I highly recommend!

Hermes is an annex off of Antoine's restaurant. We were here a few years ago and this time, we stayed right up the road at The Omni. Our bartender on June 13 was fabulous. I wish I recalled his name so we could mention him directly. Great atmosphere, food, drinks and service.

Popped in for some drinks before the pride parade as it was on the route path. The bartenders were very friendly and made excellent drinks. I had the Pimm's Cup which was very refreshing and my wife had a margarita with Grand Marnier. The vibe of the place was relaxed with a touch of New Orleans elegance due to Antoine's, the restaurant the bar is attached to.

Hermes is a great New Orleans bar. So much history has taken place here. Really good cocktails, a warm atmosphere. You can also order off the Antoine’s menu and be served right at the bar. A good spot to visit.

Pimm’s Cup is the perfect cocktail on a hot, steamy day in New Orleans. Very refreshing!

Just had drink and cup of gumbo but very good.

There is absolutely no atmosphere in this bar. The drinks were fine but the chairs are wobbly, the crowd is rowdy, and there was a ballgame on the television. How can a historic restaurant have such a lousy bar?
