Joey K's is the kind of place that feels like stepping into your grandmother's kitchen—warm, welcoming, and filled with the comforting aroma of home cooking. This neighborhood gem serves up classic Southern comfort food with a meat-and-two-vegetables approach that's both hearty and satisfying.
The menu features all the favorites you'd expect: country fried steak, catfish platters, and liver and onions, accompanied by an impressive selection of vegetables that would make any mother proud. Each dish is prepared with care and generous portions that encourage you to clean your plate.
Don't leave without trying the bread pudding—it's absolutely wonderful and the perfect way to end your meal. The dessert alone is worth the visit.
What sets Joey K's apart is its genuine neighborhood atmosphere. You'll find a healthy mix of locals who consider this their regular spot alongside curious out-of-towners discovering this hidden treasure. The colorful, eclectic interior adds character and charm, making the space feel inviting and comfortable.
The service is friendly and attentive, striking that perfect balance of being welcoming without being intrusive. The staff contributes to the overall homey vibe that permeates the restaurant.
Joey K's isn't trying to be fancy or trendy—it's simply delivering honest, delicious comfort food in a relaxed setting. This is the perfect spot to gather with friends, enjoy good conversation over a satisfying meal or drink, and soak in the authentic New Orleans neighborhood experience. It's comfort food done right, without any of the pretension.

We ordered the fried artichokes, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, jambalaya, and salmon salad. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Interior is cool and unique. Menu had a wide variety with happy hour specials. Would definitely return.

After a long day exploring New Orleans, Joey k’s squeezed us in without a reservation. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The meatloaf in particular was lovely. Reasonable prices too

Best food we’ve had all weekend. Comfort food and delicious! We had the Caesar salad, (very fresh) chicken fingers, chicken fried steak, crab and corn bisque with a side of corn bread and a burger! Everything was perfect and hit the spot!

This Saturday I had the privilige of dining at Joey Ks. The three of us had Shrimp poboys and gumbo. And shared appetizers of Eggplant Napoleon and Fried Green Tomatoes. All excellent as was the service. Amanda and her staff did us right.

Stopped into Joey K's for a quick lunch and it was fabulous! I had the fried pork chop, collard greens and french fries and my husband had the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes. I'm very picky about my greens and theirs were amazing. I am not a fan of brown gravy but it was delicious. And, you obviously have to have a Bloody Mary, right? I'm not sure what they put in theirs but it was SO good. Next time we are in the area we will certainly go back.

Food was hot and fresh, however no flavor at all. Had the fried chicken Mac and cheese and red beans and rice. My guy had the jambalaya and lamb shanks. Although hot and fresh..No flavor
Pros-The eggplant napoleon appetizer was delicious. We were seated quickly. Fried shrimp platter was tasty.
Cons- server was mostly non-existant throughout. Drink refills needed to be requested from a different server, food was brought out by different servers, bill was requested from bartender. Roast beef poboy was average, nothing special. Fried pork chop with beans and rice was below average, flavorless. Beef brisket was overly salty, cabbage was borderline inedible, rice was cold.
Portion sizes were fair for the price but what is the benefit to a nice portion size when the food isn't of a high enough quality to want to eat it?
Other than the third world roads around new orleans, Joey k's was the least favorite part of this trip.

I can't say enough good things about this place and it's staff. My sons 10th birthday was today and we stopped at a nearby bakery and picked up a small cake, the staff was so kind and accommodating, they put the cake up for us until after we ate our food, it was amazing, the best gumbo I've ever had in new orleans btw. They brought the cake out lit the candles and sung happy birthday to my guy, it really made his day so special, I know he will never forget this birthday, and we won't forget the kindness showed to us by the staff at Joey Ks!! Ps thankyou expecially to the lady who pinned a birthday dollar on lukes shirt, his whole day was made by her and the staff at Joey Ks!!!
