Just another tourist trap not worth visiting... We like jazz but are not dumb. We saw Kermit in a different bar on a Friday and he spoke about his bar, where it opened on Saturdays for everyone to go and he'd be playing. We came in past 7pm and they expected to charge us 30 dollars per person for less than 1hr remaining of show. Not sure if they just felt like overcharging us or if is actually that expensive, but ultimately not worth it really. Quite a shame since we truly liked the show in the Blue Nile the night before (for which we payed 15dls for a 2h show...)
Highly recommended. We were there on a hot Saturday in June. The crowd was small but intelligent and good looking according to Kermit. Cover was $30, the food for the evening was fried fish, mac and cheese, and cornbread $20. Ubered in and out from the quarter. The band played a loose and fun set starting at 6:30.
Great historic bar
A dynamite place

Didn’t actually go inside, they were closed when we arrived. But the beautiful mural was still vibrant and worth the visit. Will be back and will actually go inside in the future.
live music for the mature crowd
Amazing atmosphere and Kermit's cooks some good gumbo besides the lovely music.
