I didn’t know where it was hotter, inside the restaurant or outside! The food was mediocre and the presentation of my dish looked like it came out of my kitchen. Won’t be returning here again!

Delicious food! I love their crispy beef tacos. . rice and beans!! Really cute place. Clean and friendly service too
This is a Mexican joint that opened up next to Bangkok Thai and Cooter Brown's. I've never seen this joint get really crowded but they seem to have a consistent stream of people eating here. They do offer more of a mom and pop run joint vibe here than other Mexican style joints in the area. I've only ended up eating here a couple of times as honestly Mexican food is not at the top of my cuisine choices so when in this spot I typically choose Bangkok Thai or Cooter Brown's food (when I get a choice). Now Cooter Brown's food just ain't anywhere as good as it used to be (with their poboys really disappointing me these days) so I'm far less encouraged to go to Cooter's except for oysters and late night food but they don't even serve that late anymore sadly. So if you need a Mexican fix this one will do the job about as well as the many other Mexican style food choices you have in this immediate area and the rest of Orleans, Jefferson and the rest of Louisiana's Parishes.

Horchata here is bomb af. The tacos were admittedly pretty mid, the but enchiladas and rice they have are super good. Salsa that they serve with chips tastes like a roasted salsa molcajeteada, not spicy, super garlicky and super flavorful. Honestly impressive but I would have preferred it spicer.
Their mexican rice reads more like the type of rice made for red beans and rice with cumin and consomé which surprisingly works. It's textured firm like an Indian basmati but fully cooked and flavored perfectly. Surprisingly good even if it didn't seem fried and then cooked in tomato sauce with broth like a traditional Mexican rice.
I would highly recommend getting enchiladas suizas and horchata if you want a good authentic Mexican meal. The beans that it came with just needed a little salt but apart from that they were inoffensive.
Oh also this place is not expensive at all. Way better than what you can find for 1.5x the price in other parts of the city.
Tortillas seem handmade and were good quality, but the pastor as a meat option was meh which is usually my go to.
Nothing here tasted spicy, like at all. Im sure that caters to some people, but for how good the things I said I liked are, you honestly don't need spice.

Very cute restaurant with great food and amazing service. I ordered steak fajitas, and the steak was very tender juicy with good flavor. I also ordered chicken flautas, which were delicious as well, especially with the guacamole. Definitely will return to try more items.

What a find! I had lunch on Tuesday here and was blown away. They have a $2 taco Tuesday special and $4 margaritas! Everything was fantastic that we tried, so fresh and made from scratch. The margaritas were not those sugary pre mixes they were so wonderful and served in clay cups. The best part, the tacos were served with guac and pico!! No additional cost!! The man serving us and running everything was the owner and I believe he said his wife worked with him there too. He was very kind and grateful for our business. Overall, I was blown away and La Patrona has a new regular!

Ate here twice while on business in the area. The first time I ordered steak tacos and they were very delicious, so good I returned for another visit a few days later. The second time was probably the worst tacos I ever ate. The inconsistency between the two visits is worrisome.

Oh my God. This was one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was delicious. The flavors were incredibly thoughtful. The pico de gallo alone was revolutionary! Hell yeah !

Finally! Damn that was some good food. Stopped in to make a to go order for one menu item they no longer make, and walked out with some enchiladas poblanas and baleadas. Also, excellent chiles toreados - which sounds basic but they weren’t coated in seasoning, just pure grilled fire 🙌🏻
Great beans and rice, too. That’s something I generally ignore on a plate but both were actually really tasty.
Definitely will be going again. I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed Mexican food in this city in so long.
