Cool historical bar. Now for the bad part. Every table was dirty, and the bar wasn't even busy. Asked a woman if she'd clean a table for us, and she handed me a dry rag, I asked for a wet one. After finding one that was wet, she came over and wiped the cloth over the table without actually cleaning it. She then proceeded to bury her face in her cell phone. Wound up not ordering any drinks.

We visited as it is one of the older bars on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Old blacksmith style inside with a stone blacksmith fire oven in the middle. Was good to visit and have a drink. Very rustic with outside seating.

Stop in for a drink at the old Tavern, it's a fun little spot to hang out.

Private and strange bathroom in room. Low toilet in the middle of the bathroom doorway. No shelves to place your belongings. I almost fell trying to get to the bathroom sink. A toilet was in the way. We booked a specific room with a fireplace. That's not what we got. We complained and were told a wedding party got our room. Bait and switch without telling us.
Parking: Once you park. Your parked in by other cars.

Very cool place. You can read history about the city, as well as watch the blacksmith making pieces to sell. He was so kind and talked to us about our trip and what he was working on.

You'd think for one of the oldest bars in the country that is very proud of being a haunted establishment that it would welcome the supernatural with open arms. The prices of everything are ridiculous even for being bourbon straight.... I work at the other end of the block and I know what the prices are in the neighborhood. Such a shame to be treated with such disrespect, especially as a local. Will recommend to my friends who are tour guides- don't bring as much business there.
Dietary restrictions: Couldn't tell you but maybe blood's on the menu.... Being a supernatural establishment and all.
Kid-friendliness: It's a bar so definitely not kid friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Would say probably difficult AF. But it's an old building so there are loopholes

The environment was great and the drinks everyone had were fantastic. I am more of a classic cocktail person so I didn’t drink much here but still had a great time. It would have been nice to have had an extra stack of outdoor stools to grab from when they hit their night rush so we had somewhere to sit, but we just waited for folks to leave to sit

Good visit - family friendly patio area - with a visit just for its age
Third time to go here. Just love the idea that it’s the OLDEST tavern in the United States
