Wonderful Saturday evening dinner. our reservations were at 6:30 and the restaurant was quite slow at that time. It did get much busier by 8 o'clock. Wonderful live music going on in the bar next to the restaurant. it does make for some noise but nothing like the noise the music makes in other restaurants in New Orleans. would definitely go back
One should expect live music in NOLA, but one should not expect to pay top dollar for dinner and not be able to hear the people speaking at your own table. Ears ringing was about all you could hear. Service was also lacking. I understand that people need to gain experience, but we had shared plates brought out with no small plates to eat the food off of, we had 7 wine glasses that went unused never removed from the table (so I removed them), we had the server move our silverware...
We chose M Bistro because it is walking distance to the Saenger Theatre. It's great if you are staying in the hotel but it is not a destination restaurant. We found it just okay so we will not return. It is a hotel restaurant which means it is below par for New Orleans restaurants.
