Marie's Bar and Kitchen

A great little bar, friendly, companionable. Great service. Fun stuff - a pool table, a wall of computer games, a couple tv’s of course. A great neighborhood hang-out. The best part is when you go through the door in the back to find yourself in the Slap Burger section. Such great burgers!

Vegan burger was garbage/trash. Patty was falling apart and the cheese looked old. 🤷🏿‍♂️. But thats only my opinion of course. You may think differently but i doubt it lol.

This is where Slap Burger is located, inside, in the back. The burgers were great each time I've visited, and I can't wait until next time! You by pass yhe bar upright. I did order drinks from the bar both times, since Slap Burger doesn't offer drinks. During my last visit, a really nice, female bartender charged my phone for me because it was completely dead 🫶🏼

Really enjoyed the friendly people and atmosphere of this bar in Bywater. They have the best smashburger I have ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit to get away from the crowds in the French Quarter.

I’m not sure how a slap burger differs from a smash but I don’t even care because THESE BURGERS ARE SOOOOO GOOD. I got the spicy one- there’s jalapeños and spicy sauce and other delicious things on there. FIRE. Add some fries too, get a cheap beer and enjoyyyyy (not hard to do!!)

Me and my boyfriend go here quite often to order food from The Original Slap burger. We ordered tonight just like normal, and we sat down. Not many people were in the bar area. We didn’t order any drinks because we are sober and the bartender came over to the both of us and asked for our IDs. No problem. Mind you I’m 24 and my boyfriend is 26. His birthday was a few days prior. She checks his ID and very rudely says he can’t be there because it expired a few days. And we she said yeah it expires on your birthday in a very snarky way. I think it was a bit of a power trip and ridiculous. I hope she becomes less miserable. It’s sad.
