True New Orleans original!!! Been around since forever and still banging out the cities classics like no other.

The fried Okra, chicken Livers & fried chicken is what I buy when I visit. I like that they fry the chicken crispy. Depending on when you go ,it's always a wait for your food( cooked to order). Best thing is to call your order in. There is always a line.

Dirty, smelly, and run down. Though this is a historical location that was once highly reputable, the food and sanitary run-down reality is unfortunate. The people working there were sweet, but this building is frankly a sanitary code violation, and feels and smells bad...the chicken, which is what I came for, had a burned taste, and had little flavor. The gizzards were ok, but not much flavor. If the city had a health inspection, this place would fail. Cool front room is the bones of the front of a once-was Mackenzie's bakery.

I’m so disappointed ordered the 2 pieces of chicken dark meat with fries, and it was terrible, chicken not seasoned and fries over cooked.

They drop so many chicken and when lunch time comes chicken be dark n old

We came here for lunch, we ordered the whole chicken and side of fries, then went to the lakefront and devoured the delicious chicken like savages!

The food was fresh and tasty. The staff were hustling and bustling to get orders out and moving efficiently to get customers in and out. Very good service here.

Good food and a very southern atmosphere! Their fried okra and fried shrimp were devine!
