We stopped in for beignets. We are native New Orleanians who moved away a long time ago.
Beingnets were hot and delicious and you add how much or how little while powdered sugar you desire. Our waiter was an older gentleman, no rush, offered us paper hats to take home to our grandchildren. We're not coffee drinkers so had the chocolate milk to really bring back the memories.
Go. You won't be disappointed!

There’s a kind of hospitality that doesn’t exist in many places anymore. Morning Call Coffee Stand still has it.
We stopped in during our anniversary trip to New Orleans, expecting coffee and beignets. Their beignets were light, fluffy, and delicious, and the crayfish etouffee was the chef's kiss.
The atmosphere was quaint and had that old-café feel, as seen in old movies.
At a later date, I tried Café du Mondes. Their beignets were also good but more dense.
My only critique of Morning Call is that it was cash...
