My first visit to the city and we stopped here for lunch. The crawfish étouffée was delicious as was the po’boy. Will definitely go back when I visit again.

I visited this place today for the first time. The food was excellent, but the service was not. I think it was just too busy for good service, and there just wasn’t a general politeness that we’re accustomed to. I do still recommend this place though due to the excellent food at a great price. The red beans, and ham were excellent.

This was my first time visiting New Orleans and stopped to eat at Mother’s Restaurant. Food was great. Loved the green beans and red beans and rice with a little extra juice by request. The famous ham was really juicy and had great flavor and the potato salad was a great pair that didn’t miss. Seasoned perfectly! I will visit again.

Wife and I visited New Orleans for the first time this week, spent multiple days going to multiple local places. This is the only place we went back to multiple times. Can't really put into words how good everything we had was. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They poboys are great, the ham dinner is incredible. What do you put in the potato salad? I got it several times it was so good.If we come back to NOLA in the future, we're coming to Mother's first.

Looks like a hole in the wall and my friend said that’s how you know it’s good. Asked Lyntrella what I should order since I was visiting from out of town and she suggested the cheese grits and crawfish étouffée. I took it to go and it was amazing!!! I told my friends about it so we went back, and Lyntrella helped us again with suggestions. And there’s a bigger dining room in the back that has a rustic feel with exposed brick and wood, it is the perfect urban rustic industrial look - I loved it! I got the original Ferdi sandwich (half) and red beans and rice. It was so delicious but I couldn’t stop thinking about the cheese grits so I ordered some of that and their pecan pie to take with me. They also were out of this world good. You will not go wrong, everybody in my group loved the food they ordered. And Lyntrella deserves a raise! Hope to come back to Mother’s, and New Orleans, in the future.

Local and love this place but today we got two oyster and shrimp poboys. $60 and mine had two oysters so when I asked why a poboy cost $30 they said oysters had gone up. I will never return to get a $17 poboy for $30 with no oysters on it. The most overpriced poboy Ms we have never gotten and the quality wasn’t there to justify the normal price let alone this scam. Sad
