A very neat restaurant that my family decided to go to since it had so many great reviews. The food we had was alright, but everything needed a lot of salt and pepper as everything we had was relatively bland. The wait is a bit too long for what ended up being just alright. Especially since we also ordered fried chicken which takes 45 extra minutes, just for the chicken to come out without very much meat on the bone.
If you are seeking a true New Orlean’s Resturant - this is the place. They have a system you must follow, but wow is it worth the wait. I really get why they call it Mother’s - because it’s one of the only places than can make it better than your own mother.
We eat at Mother's 2-3 times each time we visit New Orleans. The sausage is delicious and whoever makes their biscuits is one of the best in the business. I had their crawfish étouffée today just to try it (put it on my cheese grits). It was rich and very tasty. The two highlights of our visits are the milk coffee (which we had never heard of before) and the woman who works the till. She can brighten anybody's day!
