Mr. B's Bistro Reviews
If there were a gold standard for hospitality, it would be JC, our waiter at Mr. B’s Bistro. We brought a group of dear friends along this time—and JC made each of us feel genuinely part of the Mr. B’s family. We’ve been dining here since 1979, and somehow JC has only grown even more remarkable with time.
The food, of course, is exquisite. We started with spring rolls and crabcakes, and, naturally, the freshly baked warm French bread with butter. Truffle fries for...read full review
Visiting New Orleans and dined at Mr B's Bistro tonight. Food was good. I had the pork chop and my wife had Wood Grilled Fish (pompano). We each had drinks, Merlot, Martini, and Disaronno, appetizer (Burrata salad) and desert (pineapple cheesecake and chocolate salted caramel cake). My pork chop dried out before I finished and the dessert wasn't moist. Spent $200+. And to top it off they do not offer a military discount. Terrible waiter with long hair that bumps into you and throws silverware on the table and doesn’t apologize. Everyone else was great!

Mr. B's Bistro offers a consistent and enjoyable dining experience. Popular dishes include BBQ shrimp, veal Milanese, and shrimp & grits. The shrimp and grits have been highly praised for their taste, while the filet has sometimes been overcooked. The gumbo's roux could be improved. Service is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with servers like Stef and Steven who anticipate guests' needs, making it a great spot for special occasions. The menu is limited but substitutions are allowed, and the ambiance is a highlight. Dress code is not strictly enforced, though many feel a moderate dress code would enhance the elegant atmosphere. Guests also enjoy dishes like bacon-wrapped shrimp with grits and wood-grilled fish with crab, along with desserts such as warm pecan pie and lemon icebox pie with raspberry. The restaurant can get very noisy when busy, but the atmosphere remains lively. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity. Overall, Mr. B's remains a favorite for many visitors seeking a friendly and memorable dining experience.
