Tried the seafood gumbo , and raspberry butter cake for a quick lunch. Zero complaints about either. This would be my first ever gumbo in NOLA. The shrimp was ultra tender and big chunks of crab in it. The ooey gooey raspberry buttercake was all of its words. Damn good. Lawrence and his apprentice with the red hair were amazing. Shout out to them and their amazing service.

The service was good and the inside of the restaurant is nice but the food was not good. I ordered both the Seafood and their Ya Ya gumbo and both were some of the worst gumbo’s I’d ever had. The roux tasted of more oil and lacked flavor. The meat in both were overcooked and mushy. It was not edible.

One of the best meals I've ever had. The fried oysters and seared scallops were phenomenal. I almost cried

I had a nice meal here - the Gumbo was exceptional. But I felt quite rushed - my waitress tried to take away my entre, before I had finished it, as she had already brought my main course. And my desert came out despite asking for some time. It wasn't that pleasant an experience for this reason - although my main waitress, who didn't bring either of these dishes out (which may have been the problem) was a delight.

Our most disappointing visit. The service was fantastic, but the food was subpar and nothing was temperature hot. Gumbo - slightly warm, my pasta jambalaya was slightly warm and average, my wife's fish was slightly warm and ok. Off night? Not sure. Love this place, but very disappointing.

On open table, this restaurant is labelled vegetarian and vegan friendly. But the only vegetarian options were fries and a salad. No vegetarian entree on the menu.A pasta was made upon request, but with boiled vegetables and no flavor. The restaurant needs to consider adding atleast one good vegetarian option to their entree list!!

The food was good but not great or incredible. I am glad that I tried this place since it’s pretty historic (hey, President Reagan dined here). But there are much better places in NOLA in my opinion.

We had a DIVINE experience for my aunt’s 61st birthday. Party of 10, Terrence was our waiter. He was fabulous and left us to chat but was respectful when he needed our attention. The management-Larry and Steve were awesome too, they gave us a great table and were inviting. The whole staff was impeccable. Everyone enjoyed their meals, clear plates all around. I can’t recommend them enough especially for locals!

70 minutes after we ordered, still no food. Paid for drinks and left. Don't go to this place hungry unless you're prepared to wait.

Great spot for some delicious food! I got the seafood gumbo (solid) and the truffle fries (massive portion and quite good!) but of our group, the shrimp and grits were the universal favorite. The scallops and risotto were also appreciated but had a smaller serving size than other dishes. Their espresso martinis (with Kahlua) were delicious as well

We have been going to Mr B’s for years. We have recommended the place for as long. Sadly in the last 2 dining experiences there, the food has slipped in quality. The staff are great but the food just isn’t what it once was. I had the bbq shrimp and for the second time they were so over cooked, they were almost impossible to peel. My wife had the fish and barely ate any due to the poor taste.Equally as upsetting is when someone sees a full plate being sent away, I would think they would ask how the experience was. Maybe they just don’t care any more. I spoke with a manager in passing and no one question about how things were. Unfortunately this was probably my last visit. There are just too many fine dining places In the quarter that are better.

Mr B wasn't originally on our radar, but we made a last-minute decision to give it a try. To our surprise, we were seated almost instantly upon arrival. The staff, from the host to the waiter, was incredibly courteous and friendly. We had our hearts set on trying two specific dishes: the soft shell crab and the seared scallops. Without wasting any time, we ordered them both, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The jumbo scallops were delicately placed on a bed of crayfish risotto, sautéed with sweet onion, pepper, and herbs. They were surrounded by a red pepper chive butter sauce and garnished with crispy sweet corn. As for the soft shell crab, it was served atop a fresh corn maque choux, accompanied by a lemon butter sauce. Both dishes were exquisite and perfectly balanced, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the scallops.
