Probably my favorite Chinese take out spot in New Orleans. I've eaten both in the restaurant (it's small and they only have maybe 3-4 tables) and also through Uber eats. The price is good (especially lunch and dinner specials) and so is the food. They are also really good about following and accommodating dietary restrictions.

We really enjoyed their food. It tasted pretty authentic and made with that old Shanghai love. Disclaimer: I've yet to visit "The Shanghai" in China (if I do, I'll be sure to Yelp lol) but this place has me reminiscing over the old Shanghai restaurant back in Palm Beach that we enjoyed when I was a kiddo. New China's food has depths of flavors that you simply cannot find at many Chinese joints. Their Mongolian Beef was divine as were their General Tso's, combination lo mein and combination rice. The wonton soup was also excellent. I sampled a little of everyone's food. I told them I've gotta Yelp about it lol. Great way to smooch off your family's food lol. Oh and if you're a fan of hot and sour soup, you'll love theirs. It was lacking some acid, so I added a bit of rice vinegar to mine and it was perfect. I found it a bit too sweet. The hubby really enjoyed his dish because he isn't a fan of pineapples in the General Tso's. Both China Doll and Empress of China put pineapples in theirs and he's a more savory kind of guy. Make no mistake about it tho, both of those places have excellent to superior food too. The prices are certainly fair at New China and if ever in the area, check them out. I'll definitely visit here again.

This spot is great for cheap takeout lunch. I call ahead and everything is ready in 15 mins. Prices are super reasonable and portions are ample to boot!

Super reliable, fast, hot and large portions. I need to venture out and try more of their menu but I end up getting the same few dishes because I know they'll be great.

No matter how good or bad their food is, the fact that they don't allow you to use their restroom when you're spending money in their establishment makes it 1⭐. Never going back.

Terrible.... Boneless chicken looked weird, old and dried up. Sweet and sour chicken smelled funny and rice was horrible.

Miss Sharon is great ! She's so sweet and always does a great job making the food. I always order veggie lo mein and I'm sure she knows my voice and order now lol.

Fried chicken and pork fried rice was on point! Friendly lady up front. Just passing thru but definitely a good choice.

I didn't enjoy. Shrimp fried rice was over cooked/dry, hardly any shrimp or veggies. Curry shrimp didn't have much sauce.

I never review stuff. That said, I live a few blocks from here and order all the time. The food's always great, but tonight after a 50+ hour work week I ordered online for pickup then promptly fell asleep. Over an hour later, I woke up and called to make sure it was still there (I hadn't paid yet). Not only was the lady nice after I had them make a ticket then didn't show up to get it, the food was warm and delicious! Didn't at all taste like it had been sitting, and I'd ordered the Cho Cho, little fried purses stuffed with pork, shrimp and water chestnuts. So good I thought everyone should know. I'm service industry so I know how lucky I got tonight. Thanks New China

Food is really good here. Also cheap which is a huge plus. The owners are very very nice people and always remember people's order when they come in. By far one of the better Chinese restaurants around New Orleans
