My wife and I and a nephew had our first meal ever at this place today and thoroughly enjoyed it. The shrimp & grits were terrific, prices were good, service was good despite how busy the cafe was and the atmosphere was uniquely New Orleans family-rated cool! Now that we've discovered this place, we will definitely be back!
Very pleasant little place with outdoor seating and satisfactory seating space inside. Not glamorous, but tasty food and friendly staff. The king cake was a great consistency, albeit too sweet, but such is the way of the king cake.

Great spot for cakes and treats. I was visiting New Orleans and a friend of mine in the Bywater neighborhood highly recommended the Cake Cafe to get a King Cake from there. I also picked up an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with tomatoes and it was fresh and delicious. I also got a cappuccino and it was quite hot which is how I like it.
