I was in the garden district for work and desperately needed lunch. I went in here because I hadn't been since COVID and wanted to see what it was like. Order the baked chicken with dirty rice and salad. The salad was basic lettuce and tomatoes. The lettuce was wilted! And I even found a rotten bit. Gross! If the owners read this please don't serve lettuce like this! I can't imagine how hard it is to run an affordable restaurant post COVID but that's no excuse to serve bad lettuce. That said the chicken was well seasoned and moist and the dirty rice was great.

Found this restaurant by happenstance, and I couldn't have been happier: small-town diner feel, locals having lunch, eclectic art on the walls. 10/10 recommend

The food was not good at all. There was mold on the Crystal hot sauce bottle the server brought us, so we asked for a new one and it was out of date.

Randomly jumped off the trolley for breakfast. Met the sweetest people and had a great breakfast of french toast and eggs.

A small, family owned restaurant with a very casual feel. A bit pricy for the environment! I was charged an extra $10 for a piece of French toast, which I thought was just going to be substituted for the biscuit and gravy which came with the breakfast and I did not want. You’d think biscuits and gravy would cost more than a piece of French toast, so when I got my bill, for one egg, bacon, potatoes and instead of biscuits and gravy a piece of French toast, and then check was $28, instead of $13.75, plus tax, I was quite shocked! Thankfully I spoke with the owner who was there at the time, and she reduced the $10 up charge to $3.00, which is much better, however I still don’t think there should have been any additional charge at all. Regardless, my total bill including tip was $25.00, which for breakfast, is still way too much unless I’m at a 4 or 5 star restaurant! Charming and quaint little diner, nothing fancy, and good luck parking because there’s no lot! I think I would pass on this one.

Friendly and helpful staff. I was able to try authentic, delicious and reasonably priced creole comfort food here.

We were in town for a family wedding and were looking for somewhere close to get breakfast and had heard that this was a good place to go. It was a hole in the wall. Our server obviously wanted to be doing anything else or be anywhere else than where she was. She was just going through the motions. Didn't say two words to us. I ordered a please u omelette with grits because afterall we are in New Orleans. I honestly can't remember what my wife ordered. The omelette was terrible. Everything was seriously overcooked. Also even though I had ordered grits the side that I got was I think hash browns? It isn't what I ordered so I had to guess. We had things to do that day so I didn't say anything. As our server brought us the check, I mentioned it to her and she was obviously bothered by it and asked if we wanted grits . This is as we were leaving. Granted I should have mentioned the mistake earlier, but her attitude was terrible. It wasn't all bad. The lady at the cash register was really nice and we talked for a while about where she was from, etc. Overall, they didn't live up to their name. I would save my money and go somewhere else for better food, better service and better atmosphere.

I order once a week from Please-U. My favorite is the red beans and rice with chicken tenders and vegetable. It a special order but I really enjoy it. Its locally owned and staff is very nice. My favorite restaurant in the area.

Yesterday I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant after an unpleasant experience a couple of blocks away at another restaurant that was recommended. Often times we always take to social media to mention our bad experiences, but I wanted to make sure I spoke on the outstanding experience I had with this restaurant for breakfast. I walked directly past it on my way to the recommended restaurant and as oddly, as it may sound, I’m thankful for the bad experience at the recommended restaurant because it was that experience that allowed me to stumble across this gem. Service was impeccable, and the food was outstanding. It was so great that I also purchased a takeout order to take back to my hotel. The restaurant gave me the old home diner experience, which was very welcoming. Much thanks goes to the locals who saw me viewing the menu on the outside as I walked from the unpleasant experience at the first restaurant I attempted to visit. Hidden gems are God-sent! I will definitely list this on my restaurants to revisit when in New Orleans.
