Saffron rice? What saffron? Only turmeric as much as I could tell.
Maybe this restaurant’s menu originates from a different part of the middle East than I am more accustomed to…Israel and Lebanon.
I gave them a second try because it’s a neighborhood place but in New Orleans, one strike is usually an out, and two strikes are definitely an out.

Saj was a perfect dinner experience! The food arrived very quickly. Everything was delicious and just the right serving size. The atmosphere was great as well as the lowkey music that was playing. Service was exceptional and the staff was very pleasant!
I’ve never dined in, but I frequently order on delivery and Saj consistently has the best Middle Eastern food in the city. You can tell everything is made from scratch. Food is fresh, flavorful, and unique.
