Surprisingly, a fusion that really works is Israeli and Southern food at Shaya. Located along Magazine Street, it's a small restaurant with inviting staff. Booking a reservation on a Monday at noon, our party of four walked in and were served in no time.To feed myself, wife, mother-in-law, and seven-year-old daughter, we ordered the fried chicken hummus, mushroom hummus, pide, and three dips (labneh, beets, and moussaka). We were literally full from noon to the next morning. The pita bread comes out hot unlimited and it's filling!Literally, every dish was great, but I found the sweetness of the date salsa verde and the savory of the aleppo pepper worked well on the fried chicken hummus. (The hummus is so smooth!) My wife and mother-in-law loved the mushroom hummus best.Don't sleep on the drinks. The pomegranate lemon soda was refreshing, Lebanese iced tea sweet, and the mint tea comes with a pitcher of more.If you love good food, go here!

Truthfully one of the best meals that my wife and I have ever experienced in our time together. We went for her birthday and the food was outstanding!! Our sever was amazing and gave us great recommendations. Every bite we took was better than the next. True standouts was the bread service and hummus with lamb ragu and hummus with fried chicken. Dessert was also fabulous! All around an amazing dining experience and whenever we return to New Orleans we will certainly be going again!

This place is a Jem. My husband and I ate dinner here and it had to be hands down the best food we had on vacation. We ordered the chicken dinner that had pistachios in it. Also one of the hummus with a side of veggies. The pita bread was absolutely delicious. Best food I have ever tasted. Love this place

We discovered this place thanks to “Someone Feed Phil”’s episode and wanted to try it out! This place was a delight!Food: We tried the mushroom hummus, lamb shank and Fattoush salad. The hummus with the fresh bread was so good that we ordered more fresh bread! The lamb shank was tasty! Having tried the Fattoush salad quite a few times times I felt the pomegranate vinaigrette lacked the sweetness of pomegranate and made the salad good but not great for me!Beverages: Tried one of their drinks and it was but nothing out of this world!Ambience: Loved the place! The overall vibe was wonderful and The decor was wonderful, quite classy and well planned!Service: The staff was super nice and friendly! Loved the overall experience!

Went here for my girl's birthday. The fresh pita was the highlight. Babka was a lil too sweet. Beets were bomb. Lamb Kabab was best. Cocktails are must.

First time eating with Shaya. It was absolutely amazing! Every single item we ordered was cooked, seasoned and portioned perfectly. Very rare for me to have a restaurant that is almost flawless. Pita made to order was a plus!! And they are really soft!

This place never misses. The food is always on par with the service. A bit slow afternoon, but good music. Definitely worth trying everything and don’t miss their happy hour. 50% off wines and all their hummus’.

Dietary restrictions: They do ask if there are any dietary restrictions. Though our party had none, it was nice of them to inquire.

Being from the Metropolitan Detroit area, im used to some of the best mediterranean food outside of the area, but Shaya was on another level. Every dish we tried was amazing, with our favorite being the lamb ragu. It's definitely a must-have if in the New Orleans area!!

We went to Shaya for our Anniversary 5 days ago and I am still thinking about the food! The hummus was incredible. We chose the Wild mushroom hummus but I don't think you can go wrong with any of their options. The Baba, Lebna and roasted beets were also delicious as well as the Israeli Salad for an entree. Can't wait to go back!

We loved this restaurant! We were out walking on our trip to NOLA, and this was the last of several stops. We loved the baba ganoush, lamb hummus, cauliflower hummus, and delicious pita! Would 100% go again!
