This was my first train experience. I’ll start out by saying my train was delayed 4 hours. That I get has nothing to do with the station HOWEVER it was very hard to understand what was being said. We were in Grand Hall and everything just echoed. I relied on bits and pieces of information from others. There is not much information posted around about train status. On Saturday, we celebrated my nephew's 3rd birthday on train 20 from NOLA to Slidell. I have to admit; I dreaded the thought. When our train was called to board, we met Mr. Philip. He had a smile on his face that made our day. He had an excitement and a smile and suck a positive spirit, it took our experience to the next level. I pray he is recognized, appreciated, and advanced by Amtrak for his dedication to his customers.
The attendants were very helpful, as my family had a delay on getting to the train and arrived slightly past check luggage time we were politely given a cart to load and pushed through to an attendant that had the exact number of tags for bags to be checked. Thanks for the love Union.
