We waited in line and ordered soup right at their window fairly quickly. We decided to get a few smaller options of soup so we were able to try a bunch of different flavors, and of course, had to try a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was fantastic! We really enjoyed it paired with some of the soups. The small portions of soup are great for one serving for one person. Our favorites were definitely the classic chicken noodle and baked potato. The others were good. We liked the cauliflower more than we thought and the Thai curry less than we thought. Overall, the experience was a good one. However, we're not frequent soup eaters so I can't say we'll be back regularly but it was a great place to stop in and try!

the food is good. the atmosphere is funky. most of the seating is outdoors. . the service is good ( but it can be slow when they are busy). the prices are very reasonable. i just wish you didn't have to eat with your hands. some of the offerings can be very sloppy. would it really ruin the authenticity of the ethiopian food if you had silverware? like i said, the food is good - doesn't taste any better because you use your hands.

A little bit of a hectic operation inside, but darn good soup.

The Soup Garden is a cute little hut offering a variety of soups and a couple sandwiches. The soup is delicious !!!! (although a little over priced) The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell the soup is made with love.

Best grilled cheese I’ve had outside of Mamaw’s house, and the tomato basil soup was dang good too.

Ethiopian cuisine is one of my favorites, but finding good places to enjoy it is elusive. I went with a party of three and was the only vegetarian. Meat and non-meat dishes were served on the same platter, and I share responsibility for that mistake. It was hard to identify what was what. Some of the dishes were flavorful, others not so much. We had plenty to eat, but I have experienced better Ethiopian food in Washington, DC and the East Bay of California. The place had one other party that was getting most of the attention from wait staff. Granted, it was a big party, but it took a while to get their attention and to be served.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past this lovely pop up soup shop. When it's not snowball season, this small business is bursting with flavorful soups. Every soup that I have tried is full of flavor. I really enjoy their 3 flight soup option too.The one thing that I ordered here that was not my cup of tea was their hot chocolate. Now, if you love a nice good dark cup of chocolate, you may love it, but It was just too rich for my tastebuds, even with the lovely swirl of whipped cream and sprinkles on top.Lovely people working the shop and super friendly staff. Parking could be a hassle as it is located on Magazine street. Don't let the crowded streets overwhelm you, it's definitely worth parking down the street if need be.

OMG!! Please try their chicken & rice soup! I've never tasted such delicious and satisfying soup. A friend recommended that one. My memories of chicken & rice are watery & gross. Not this one! It was packed with shredded chicken and the broth was so good!! I will not be buying Whole Foods soup while the Soup Garden is open (cold months). I also tried their Thai curry carrot and Butternut squash soups. Incredibly delicious! I got the 3 soup flight for $15. I know the 8oz size at Whole Foods is @$10. I'm going back tomorrow for more and to try their drinks. Can't wait! Soup is on! Thank you Soup Garden!!

Mmmmm..... soup! Who doesn't love a warmbowl of soup? The Soup Garden hits the spot! I was shopping on Magazine street and saw a short line at the Soup Garden. Some people had driven there so I figured it was a good local spot. The two women working there (at 4:30 on Thursday Jan. 12) were super helpful and friendly. I ordered a bowl of butternut squash with croutons. YUM!! It was perfect. I hope to go back and get a bowl of something different before I leave New Orleans!

Soup was out of this world. The chef special for the day was crab bisque — peppery with a hint of spice, and rich without being too heavy. I couldn’t get enough.Heads up — they stop serving sandwiches after 5pm, so if you’re getting some for dinner be aware to not wait until the last minute. Can still get soup though :)

Get there early if you want the daily special, but the soups are outstanding. Potato soup is flavorful and garlicky. The grilled cheese is really good too. And they have cold soups you can take home and freeze for later.

How serendipitous to have stumbled upon this cute little hut on such a gloomy day when a nice hot bowl of soup is the perfect remedy? Double points, because I was just thinking about how there's not really any local spots that just have a collection of soups to choose from and what do I find? A garden full of them. This made my heart smile y'all because ya girl loves soup. I heard that the line can get a little crazy, so I was lucky to have caught them during a lull--I needed a little time to talk myself out of not buying one of each, lol. They have a rotation of soups that they offer daily in addition to daily specials. They have a combo option that gets you a soup, sandwich, cookie and drink for $22 which is what I ended up going with so that I could try a few different things. I got the tomato basil soup, grilled cheese, one of their house made fizz drinks in the strawberry basil flavor, and it came with a cookie. Y'all that soup and sandwich was everything, it felt like a hug. The perfect comfort meal. The soup was creamy, but not too thick, perfectly balanced flavor wise-if you like tomato soup you'll enjoy this one. The grilled cheese was indeed cheesy, but it didn't feel like too much. The bread was buttery and the thickness was just right. There was also a slight sweetness to it; maybe it was brioche? Very tasty. The strawberry basil fizz, was refreshing, but not quite what I expected. The flavor was subtle and a little earthy (likely from the fresh basil or maybe the strawberry leaves if they use a puree and blend them whole), not very sweet. It was enjoyable though and I'd be interested in trying the other flavors. The cookie was festive and decorated for the holidays I was very excited to discover that it was a snickerdoodle! I also got a small portion of the loaded potato soup and their little ham and cheese sammies. I loved those too. The soup needed just a pinch of salt, but was perfect otherwise. Needless to say, I'll be back for more!
