The Spotted Cat Music Club is a very small place with a great, authentic vibe and fantastic live music. It's exactly the kind of unpretentious, high-quality venue you want to find on Frenchmen Street.
The music is superb, the drinks are good, but the main feature here is the atmosphere. A few crucial tips for visiting:
Be prepared to stand: It is very difficult to get a seat or bench inside the club, so assume you will be standing for the duration of your stay.
Check the back patio: If you want a more casual spot to chat without the intense crowd, they have outdoor seating in the back where the music is broadcast over speakers.

If you are looking for an intimate, high-energy night of authentic jazz, The Spotted Cat is a must-visit.

It’s not about the food.
It’s not about the service.
And it’s certainly not about the $9 cans of beer.

It’s about the great New Orleans jazz. And it makes the $9 beer a great value.

The Spotted Cat is TOPs on our list of places to stop and sit through a set on every visit we make to NOLA.

The only authenticity of this pub is it is old, which gives tou the feeling of vintage vibe. But it is old and looks really old.
The restrooms are outdated, and the bar counter is barely holding up. Plus, there's definitely a need for more chairs and stools. After walking 15,000 steps around the city all day, it's tough to enjoy the music while standing, which is why I deducted 3 stars from the service.

I was struggling to find traditional jazz the whole day, found it here. There’s a $10 cover + you have to get 1 drink. Really hard to get out when there’s a crowd right by the stage.
