Mimosas and fluffy pancakes. Breakfast doesn't get much better than that. Service was great and prices fair. Can't wait to go back.
We enjoyed our breakfast. The eggs Benedict had a Cajun flavor adding to the local authentic flavor.
Stopped in for a late morning brunch. Ordered the Fried Green Tomato BLT, it was amazing. Thick sliced fried green tomatoes paired with an amazing candied bacon. Definitely hit the spot before starting the day.
My companion and I love this place and travel there from the Westbank. However, we had the same waiter as our last visit and can't imagine how this guy keeps his job. He's absolutely the worst waiter we've had in years anywhere. Don't want to pull the race card, but unless you're an attractive young woman of color, you can forget about getting food while it's still hot or getting a coffee refill. Had to ask another server for our bill since our waiter was too busy flirting with the ladies at the table next to us to acknowledge us waving for our bill. He brought our hash browns after we had finished eating our meal and even then we had to ask more than once. Absolutely will not dine there again unless we can get a different server.
The breakfast was mediocre at best. Then, to top things off, the waiter and the chef got into a huge fight in the kitchen with the "F" bombs flying left and right. "I don't need this "F"ing job", "F" you....it wasn't just a short encounter it went on for an uncomfortably long time. Pans slamming, plates crashing. We were waiting for gunfire to break out at any moment. Two little girls with their Mom were exposed to the whole mess, sitting right outside the kitchen. Then, our waiter, basically took it out on us by tossing the check on the table and never smiling again. Really wanted to like this place but will never go back, especially while staying close by at the Pontchartrain.
Great place for breakfast! Loved the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream that my son ate. They also have a great selection to choose from with eggs, grits, omelets to help make your morning great. Staff there is fun, fast and friendly which helped make the start to our day awesome. Come early or with time since it tends to be a popular place and will get crowded.Enjoy!
The Trolley Stop building & decorations were charming. Great prices, but food & service were just OK.
Great breakfast for a very reasonable price. Friendly staff.
On this trip it has been all about the recommendations and all the places I missed on my previous trips! The Trolley Stop Cafe was on the St. Charles Street Trolley Line..so it fit into right into today's itinerary to ride the Streetcar and check-out the Garden District! The Trolley Stop Cafe is right at St. Charles & St. Andrew Sts...the place is so cool on the inside with murals and artifacts of Trolley cars! We decided to try: Catfish Breakfast; Liver & Eggs and Mushroom Omelette..all served with grits! My friend who had the Liver stated it was 'Hittin' in all the right places! The Catfish was cool to perfection & the Mushroom Omelette was alright...lots of mushrooms! The grits were very bland..needs lots of doctoring to get them just right! Now..the service was questionable, but understandable..only (2) servers and (1) cook! Our server appeared frustrated and wanted to share most of the issues going on in the back with us as well as sharing his personal woes about how his children treating him poorly..it made for good entertainment during our meal! Overall, great meal! Worth taking the Trolley to explore other places than what's in the French Quarter
Nice service and atmosphere
Restaurantji Recommends
We were on a girl's trip to New Orleans and had to catch an early bus tour. Trolley Stop was near our pick up location so we stopped in for breakfast. The service was fast and friendly with a chatty waitress. Portions were more than adequate. The restaurant a little "rustic" but fit our needs to a tee. This is definitely a neighborhood "go-to" as there were quite a few regulars both dining in and carrying out. We'd recommend for breakfast or maybe lunch if you are in the upper Garden District.
waiter was awesome he had everything right thank. You
The grits!!!! To die for!!! Awesome service. Do yourself a favor and stop by.
Grits were not seasoned, nor the eggs. But the catfish was GREAT!! The biscuit was good too. And our waitress was very sweet. Cute place.
Waited 15 minutes to get our name on the waiting list. No line; just nobody would take our name. Waited another 15 minutes to be seated. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table after we were seated.Ordered “The big Easy” with the eggs over medium. The eggs came out scrambled.(It seems as though they are just reopening after the Covid shutdown and they are short on help.)
