Unfortunately they have been closed since March 2020. JoAnn Clevenger have a lovely interview to the Advocate. In the article it states they are permanently closed. Another casualty of the pandemic. Don’t know if a one star for sadness in closing or a five to wish them well?♀️

Called to try and make reservations, and after ringing for quite a while, the recording says they are closed due to Covid, and are going to try to onpen in the timeframe of April. Problem is, site says they are currently open! So, how are you able to get a reservation?

Definitely one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. The friend green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade in particular was one of the best dishes I had on this trip. Which makes sense, considering this (now) New Orleans staple was created at Upperline! I liked the course dinner option. Portion sizes were large. I left stuffed. I love the comforting feel of this restaurant. Felt like home.

Please open. The people need you Ms. Clevenger and your wonderful food to make us happy again. I miss you and am hopeful to step into your restaurant soon.

My favorite NOLA resto. Hope it reopens after covid.

My favorite restaurant in New Orleans, and that’s some tough competition. JoAnne Clevenger is the consummate hostess and restauranteur

We called at least 6 times a week ago to make reservations, but each time the answering machine said" We are closed due to the pandemic" There was no way to make a reservation on line, so we just gave up. Upperline should pay more attention to what their machine is saying.

Nice selection of foods and wine. Cozy atmosphere. Perfect for an afternoon/evening chill-out. Exceptional service! Absolutely affordable.

This was our second trip to Upperline and found it as charming and tasty as the first visit. I had the Slow Roasted Duck with Peach Sauce, and my sister had the Cane River Gulf Shrimp Saute. The desert selection was the Creme Brule, We enjoyed the setting and staff and we will return on future trips.

My parents are visiting from Ohio, and I am heartbroken that I can't take them to meet Ms. Clevenger in those cozy rooms and to eat the lovely food. Imagine writing a review for a restaurant that isn't even open, and may never be again, God forbid. Well, that's what I'm doing. Eating there 18 months ago -- turtle soup, shrimp remoulade, and roast duck -- was one of the great dinners of my life, and I hope with my heart to see their doors open again.
Came hungry, left happy, full and felt like I had dinner with family and friends. Coming from out of town for the holiday, this was exactly what I wanted. If someone asked me for a recommendation for a dinner spot in New Orleans, this would be my one and only! Will be back.

Went there years ago, and the food was excellent and so was the wine. It's nice to see it's just getting better with time. Great artwork, and you are made to feel very special.

My sister and I dined at the Upper Line and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As part of the holiday tradition, we both ate from the Revilon menu and shared our plates. I had the Hot and Hot Piquant Shrimp and it was perfect, nuanced and delightful! What a hidden gem alert! highly recommend

We truly enjoyed our evening here with great food and some people watching. We were lucky our trip was just before they shutdown the city. We had fried green tomatoes, drum with ?crab (I forgot), salad, filet, and I forgot what the last person had. All was very good, also very good desserts. Definitely would go again. I also enjoyed the decor and artwork.
