The gumbo and rice were good. The chicken was decent but nothing you couldn't at a backyard bbq. The ribs tasted like they were baked then thrown on the grill for smoke flavor. I'm not sure if its just the region I live and my standard for bbq, but they were unacceptable.

Would be considerate to update their hours while all this going on doesn't close at 10 as stated on their Google listing. Kind of irresponsible of leadership. Wasting my time driving up there to a closed restuarant

I've either driven past or ridden past this place on the streetcar many times and have always wanted to stop. I am glad I finally did. I'm from Texas and take my BBQ very seriously, but this place didn't disappoint. So much flavor! I definitely enjoyed the Louisiana influence in the way the meats were smoked. Beers were cold. Staff was friendly. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped in for lunch one day and got the Chopped Brisket Sandwich with Red Beans & Rice. It was amazing and I’ll definitely be a returning customer as there are several other things on the menu I want to try.

Stopped by after 9:00 pm on Thursday night; there were a few other people inside; we had no wait-time. Ordered the BBQ Hurricane burger and the white-chocolate bread pudding. Both were delicious. I like my hamburger done (no pink in the middle) and while they did not ask how I wanted it, that is how it was served, so I was happy. The pulled pork on top of it was very good, tender and well seasoned. The mojo bbq sauce is so yummi!!! The bread pudding was also great. Nice atmosphere, very reasonably priced. We will be back next time we are in town.

OMG, this place has amazing comfort food that will put you in a food coma! I wish I had the recipes for all the sides! I'm a huge food snob and this place knocked it our of the park!

Fast and delicious food, friendly service. Prices are a little lower than the average in my opinion. Additionally there are each day specials with reduced prices (e.g. wingsday, 75 Cent/wing). The bathrooms weren’t that clean unlike the kitchen!

Visiting from Houston and decided to give this place a try. This a a great location on the way to the Garden Distinct right at a street car stop. I enjoyed the asthetics of the place too. Really cool place. The food was ok. Came in with a party of five, and I got to try a little bit of everyone's food while I waited for mine; more on that wait later. I ordered the brisket and j*** chicken with two sides. The brisket and chicken were pretty good; moist and tender, but not really smokey. I wouldn't call the chicken j*** chicken though. It was just sliced chicken breast with a j*** sauce drizzled on top. Decent, but not what I was expecting. Red beans and rice, good. Gumbo, decent. Potato salad, good. Mac and cheese, mushy and terrible. They also had a selection of table bbq sauces: sweet, tangy, and hot, and they complimented the food well. And now to the worst of it, the service. Upon ordering, we were told they were out of fries, Voodoo chips, and jambalaya. Not great, but fine. Most people ordered Mac and cheese and another side, but they ran out of mac too after we ordered. So everyone had to change their orders on that too. Paid for my order, and had to pay again later because they messed that up too; annoying, but not the end of the world. The worst part was that my food came out after 40 minutes, several minutes after everyone else's food came out. I got to graze on everyone else's food because everyone was done eating before I even got my food. Place was cool, food was ok, but the service was terrible! I hope they were only having an off day, but I probably won't return if I'm ever in town again.

Went there on a quiet Monday night. The beef was ok, not the tenderest ever but alright. The chicken was dry. The sides were all good and the corn bread nice. Great value, expect to have good food but not a great experience.

I went here just before the 2020 Nyx parade began and wow I wasn't expecting much (given that I just bought for so I could use the bathroom) but this was still such a let down. I took two bites of the mac and cheese and threw it away because it literally wasn't worth the calories. It tasted like nothing. Easily the least cheesy mac and cheese I've ever had the misfortune of eating. The chicken sandwich was better but not by much. I got the wheat bun which promptly fell apart after I added the barbecue sauce to it. Thankfully the barbecue sauce was pretty good but that sandwich would've been beyond bland without it so if you opt to get the smoked chicken sandwich definitely get sauce for it. Or, I'd recommend saving your time and going to a local fast food eatery which dare I say will have better quality food for the same price.

One of the best finds considering food is sooo expensive in the Quarter. On Tuesdays they have $2 pulled pork sandwiches. These are not sliders, they are piled with the most tender pork you can imagine. I actually ate there then bought 10 to go.
