I wanted to like this place but it fell extremely flat.I heard that Willie Mae's had the best fried chicken and we were staying somewhere nearby so we figured we'll eat lunch here.First off, the service is so meh. Almost felt like we were bothering the staff by ordering. In addition to that, they also got my order wrong. I ordered sweet potato fries but they ended up giving me regular fries. They were all over the place skipping several orders and there were no apologies or explanations given.I was hopping the chicken flavor will make up for their shortcomings but it turns out the staff cared about the food as much as they cared about their customers. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. So many other options in this city.

We waited so long for our food and it was just ok. Felt like the hype was overrated and expensive. Ended up going to Mothers. Wish I could say I’d be willing to try this place again but I’m not so sure. It’s something when you’re paying a lot for food and the service is sour AND slow. Stank attitudes should not be working front of the house even in food halls. I can say I’ve had it, not sure there’s more to say than that.

Willie Mae's is the definition of New Orleans fried chicken. We sampled almost everything on the menu and it doesn't disappoint. Battered and fried to golden goodness, tender but spiked with that Nola spice you crave! Being in the market they have better hours, but also have the draw back of the traffic and smells of the space. The only other detraction was the sauce they need some bomb sauce to set off those amazing tenders.

Literally cannot and will not ever eat fried chicken again if its not Willie Mae’s. This location was great- food was fresh, hot & mouth watering. The staff is super nice, helpful and fun too. 10/10 will recommend and will have to come back to NOLA just for the fried chicken at Willie Mae’s

I've been wanting to try Willie Mae's and stopped by the one at The Market. Got the Chicken Dinner (all dark meat) with red beans. Took about 15 minutes and boy, was it hot and fresh! Great crunch on the chicken with bold spices that add tons of flavor without detracting from the fried chicken taste. And just that lingering bit of tingling on your lips. There's beans had excellent seasoning and just a touch of rice. Lived up to the hype.

Delicious! A friend recommended Willie Mae's for their fried chicken and it was so good. It was fresh and the batter was unique and seasoned well. The mac and cheese was creamy and seasoned well too.Parking: Street parking outside of the venue.

Ordered for pick up on Uber eats, was ready in 10 minutes. Got the baked chicken, Mac and cheese and cornbread and oh my goodness it was SO GOOD! The cornbread almost made me cry it was so good and moist, so was the chicken, very juicy and flavorful, had a classic rotisserie chicken flavor, and I was very pleased with the Mac. It wasn’t the best In the world but definitely got the job done, very fresh and had a great flavor, you could tell this wasn’t processed fast food Mac. I was very pleased with my meal. I’m glad I’m full so I can save it for later and eat it again. I can tell it’s great reheatable food because of how moist and juicy and fresh everything is! Highly recommend!

Definitely worthwhile to make the time and effort to go to the scotch house location instead. The quality at the market location is not remotely close to the original spot. The chicken at the market is not as crispy and the seasoning is off. The mac and cheese was disgusting. The cheese was coagulated. The sides are also limited here. On a good note, at least the food came out quick..

The St. Ann location was closed so we went to The Market location which is pretty much an office building food court. I ordered tenders and my husband ordered the fried chicken- both were excellent. Collectively we shared Mac 'n cheese, candied yams, red beans and rice and bread pudding.Would definitely come back and order everything again.

It is worth the hype! Since they make the food as fresh as possible there is likely a few minutes wait. But it’s worth it. I had the chicken, butter beans and corn bread. The chicken was crispy, yet was not dry in the least. Every bite was chalk full of flavour..so very well-seasoned. Though the chicken was great, my favourite was the buttered beans and rice. Perfectly Seasoned and packed with soo many herbs and spices. If you’re vegetarian, order a double serving and enjoy. It all was all soo good.Vegetarian options: Buttered beans and rice

The fried chicken was good , perfectly cooked and a little kick of spiciness to it. The Mac and cheese was good but it had a black pepper taste to it that could be overwhelming for some. My only gripe about the chicken is that it was a bit greasy but other than that I'd probably go back when in the area. I opted for the fries on my plate I would have preferred crinkle cut they were more of a small potato wedge type cut. All plates are served with little corn muffins that were pretty good not to bad. Overall the food is great but not phenomenal.

I'm so sad. SO SAD, Y'ALL. I heard such great things about their food, and I walked an extremely stupid distance to get it, I wanted to try it so badly. To start, all the other reviews about the long wait are 100% correct. We were the second check of the day and waited over 45 min for a chicken tender basket and fried fish basket. There has to be a better way to approach the way they make their food so it doesn't result in a 45 min + wait.I could overlook the long wait if the food was amazing, but it wasn't. The chicken was crispy in some spots, soggy in others. The strips were stuck together and I was worried the middle wasn't cooked through. It had very little flavor. The mac and cheese wasn't as good as Popeye's (this isn't me trying to be insulting, it just really wasn't good.) However, the fried fish and red beans and rice were very tasty.Again, so sad. So sad for my tummy and sad that I'm out $70.

I guess I had better expectations of the chicken here, but it did not taste well seasoned.
