Nestor Mexican Restaurant is a wonderful place with great food and a friendly staff. The atmosphere is excellent and the pricing is reasonable. Many call it a gem and Shreveport's best kept secret. The steak tacos are excellent, with some saying the steak is the best they've ever had on street tacos. The birria tacos are also an excellent choice, served with a good consomé sauce. Appetizers like the street corn and the warm chips with decent salsa are delicious. The complimentary queso is the best some have ever had. The green sauce for the tacos is top notch. Their fresh made aguas frescas, like melon, watermelon, and pineapple, are tasty, amazing, and the perfect ending to a meal. It is a perfect place to catch a good meal, even for large orders, and it never disappoints.
