Sogo | Japanese Restaurant

Last week, my family and I were at Disney World and ate at Teppan Edo (their hibachi in Epcot), and had the worst experience and food there that we were excited to come home and go to Sogo because Sogo is WAYYYY BETTER than Disneys hibachi in Epcot. And this is coming from a diehard Disney fan.

My wife and I came here for dinner and everything was perfect. The restaurant was very clean, our waiter was a 10/10, and the food came out quickly and fresh. We ordered the combo lo mein, the Covington roll, and the Japanese egg rolls .... all were excellent. Our total was $42 for two people, which is a great value for the quality and service we received. We’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place.

My first time here and I will definitely be back. The sushi was wonderful. I had the Ponte train roll minus cream cheese. And a small fried rice, which was delicious. Service was exceptional. What I believe to be the owner was walking around and was the first person to greet me…very friendly! Thank you, Sogo… I shall return!!!

You couldn’t pay me to eat here again. The prices on the menu are much less than what they ring up to be on your bill. There were so many discrepancies, including trying to charge me $15 for my child’s shrimp hibachi lunch which on the menu was nine dollars. He literally had four shrimp on it. And the woman ran my card for $20 more than what my original bill said and almost had me waiting 45 minutes for her manager to come back from break to fix it. Also, the menu will say it has snow crab in a roll but it but really it’s imitation krab. Everyone knows that if you say snow crab with a C you are obviously talking about real crab and not imitation Krab. The atmosphere was so dingy, the bathrooms were like a terrible ran down gas station with graffiti carved into all the stalls. I almost slipped and busted my butt a million times on the slippery floor. I let someone know how dangerous it was and she said its always that way because the grease from hibachi. They know the floor clearly needs cleaning. For terrible service, mid sushi and a horrible atmosphere, that was the worst hundred dollars I ever spent.

Sogo Japanese Hibachi in Slidell, Louisiana, delivered an exceptional dining experience tonight! I’ve been coming here for so long! I moved to Florida and tried so many Sushi places and none came close to the quality, price and friendly atmosphere. I’ve also tried sushi in many other states & so glad when I moved back home to have my Sushi lol!

Wow.. wife and I are always flashing back to our Brandon Florida days where we would eat at a hibachi place called Jo Tos .. and missed food that good.. Ok . We went here tonight and it is best we have had since then, thats been almost 20 years. Don't get me wrong Jo Tos still holds the best we ever had position, but dam this is super good and I think ranks #2 now. Food was great, and meeting new folks sitting around the Hibachi is always one of my favorite parts, and meeting Chase and his peeps was cool. We are new to the area and this was are 1st time here with many more visits to come that is fore sure.

They have cheaper sushi, and fried rice selections if you're on a budget. Staff was extremely helpful. Loved my experience.

I left a $ 7 tip and someone at the restaurant changed my tip among to reflect over $10.This has to be to lowest thing I have seen from a business. Please don't say it was a mistake this was definitely intentionally done.
