Absolutely phenomenal! Don’t be confused by the inauthentic imitators. The tortillas are excellent, the meats are seasoned and cooked to perfection. Best Mexican food I’ve had since arriving in Louisiana. This place beats out Johnny Sanchez in NOLA and every other place. Great food.

I am from California and know what real Mexican food taste like. My husband brought me to Taqueria Habaneros and immediately liked the atmosphere. The place was clean and are server was friendly and answered questions my husband had as he loves to try new things on a menu he has never had. He ordered the Pupusas (handmade corneal stuffed with cheese (quesillo), pork (chicharron), and beans with a cabbage salad on the side, pico de gallo, cucumber and avocado. The restaurant is clean, and the servings are generous, making it a must-visit spot in Slidell. Don't miss trying the flan, which is described as delicious, and the hand-made tortillas are a highlight too.
