The Mansion Restaurant

Currently, the restaurant is having issues. It is no where near the quality, or service that it was in previous years. We would have walked out, if we didn't specifically come to Nottoway to be at the mansion.To eat dinner took 1.5 hours. That wasn't because we just sat around and looked at the scenery. The Nottoway Plantation and "Castle" is amazing, impressive, elegant and historic. Unfortunately, on 2 occasions (I've only been in the restaurant twice) the food was questionable, at best. 1st time, the soup (don't recall what type) was excellent, but the shrimp etouffee on rice was 80% gelled goo, and less than an ounce of difficult to see (tiny) shrimp. 2nd visit - no soup ordered, had the daily special fried catfish.
