“Feel like being comfortable and have little fun. Stop by play pool, listern to some music and have a drink or two. Only problem you might have is the parking on weekends night. Try it doing week days less of a headache”
“If you're in the neighborhood or staying overnight or just taking a tour of Nottoway, the largest antebellum plantation house in the South, be sure to make time for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Mansion Restaurant at Nottoway. Resident chef Johnny "Jambalaya" Percle has assembled a classic Louisiana cuisine inspired by old Creole recipes. Located at 31025 Highway 1 in White Castle, Louisiana, overlooking the Mississippi River, Nottoway offers an experience you don't want to pass up. Enjoy a meal in a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century dining room with stunning views of century-old oak trees. There are 16 majestic oaks spread across the 31-acre property, the oldest estimated to be 162 years old, the same age as the mansion. Weather permitting, outdoor dining also is available on the curved second floor balcony of the Rotunda, which offers a sweeping view of Nottoway's beautiful grounds. For breakfast, browse the buffet for assorted breads, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, homestyle grits, hash browns, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles and buttermilk biscuits. For lunch, my wife and I started with chicken and sausage gumbo and grilled chicken salad with mixed greens, grape tomatoes, black olives, feta cheese, tortilla chips and balsamic vinaigrette. For a main course, my wife chose a Reuben sandwich with hot corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and 1,000 Island dressing grilled on marble rye. I opted for BBQ shrimp and grits with Louisiana jumbo Gulf shrimp, stone ground grits, andouille sausage and BBQ butter. If we had been able to stay for dinner, we would have started with ordered chicken and sausage gumbo, Creole turtle soup, Caesar salad with romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, croutons and creamy Caesar dressing, a bone-in ribeye with herb roasted fingerling potatoes and creamed spinach, Colorado roast rack of lamb served with dijon and oregano sauce, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli, Miss Sharon's house-made white chocolate bread pudding topped with creme anglaise and caramel sauce and classic creme brulee with French vanilla custard topped with caramelized sugar and garnished with fresh berries. Certainly a restaurant worthy of such a magnificent tourist attraction.”
“Didn't actually go into the bar but next door to the pit stop is a little grocery store that make their own sandwiches and I highly recommend if you're going to stop don't forget to pick up a sandwich. The tuna is amazing and the club sandwich is to die for. The price is definitely right.”
“I’ve purchased crawfish from here twice within the past 3 weeks, and on the strength their website states they will be open on tomorrow {Sunday}, I plan on stepping across some soil and heading up La.30 to scoop up another 5-6 Pounds ;) . First and foremost, the customer service @ the drive thru window is amazing….they are so friendly and welcoming. If any, there is little to none in wait time…don’t even have time to shift your gear into PARK. The crawfish will still be FRESH & piping Hot(heat) by the time you get to your destination.. Only 1 Warning: They will be extremely JUICY!! Expect to have plenty of juice from your crawfish in the bottom of your bag ? The BEST Crawfish I have EVER HAD in my LIFE!!”
“The food here is AWESOME! And the people are very nice and friendly. And the location is right in the middle of plaquemine's busiest part of town on Railroad Ave. along with dozens of other local businesses on both sides of the tracks. The inside of the building looks like it's been remodeled, looks very clean and has a few beautiful antique pieces for show. I was very impressed!Parking: The amount of free street parking spots is extremely limited.”
“My travel partner and I stay in Baton Rouge for work and drive all the way over here for breakfast weekly. The food is like grandma cooked you a Sunday breakfast, every morning! The staff and owner are always so happy and welcoming! If you’re ever in the Baton Rouge area take a moment and drive over and grab some great food! You won’t regret it! 10 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I was doing some work at one of the plants nearby and decided to stop in for lunch. The service was great! The food was also great and probably the healthiest option you will find in this area. The portions are very big though so bring your appetite. I will be back for sure.”
“Open space, jukebox, pool table, & games. They actually had the beer we drink, Miller High Life. Absolutely the best "happy hour" times around. Clean and pleasant bar with a great bartender. We only had time for a couple, but will definitely go back.”
“Great food service is good and priced right. Great night out! Always great food and great service. Catfish Billy is yummy!Parking: It's a gravel parking lot but well maintained”
“Best wings in the Parish. All you can eat brunch on Sunday that is awesome.Dietary restrictions: Their wings are paleo-friendly if you leave the batter off. They fry the wings in lard.”
“I ordered the oyster poboy and it was by far one of the best I've had. The food was hot and the portions big. They have a huge menu to choose from! Definitely give this place a try!”
“Love to eat here. I'm definitely a regular. Many stop here for lunch and throughout the day. The crawfish bits are great. The chicken stew is a favorite. Fried fish and potato salad. The twice baked potatoes is a great meal. The honey jalapeño. wings are great. Seafood is great. I often use the catering services as well.”
“I was working in that area. So I stopped to play pool. Great food. Great drinks, great people. And the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place to go for some food or hang out.”
“This is the first time we have been to this restaurant but we will definitely be returning! When we walked in the place smelled amazing and the food did not disappoint! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. We had both sushi and hibachi and we loved everything we had. The portions were generous and the pricing was in line with other restaurants of this kind that we have visited. If you haven’t been I highly recommend you give them a try.”
“It is small but clean and well maintained.,Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious especially the shrimp pasta. I can't wait to eat there again....”
“Always has good home cooked food!! I do not care for fast food so this is my go to place in Plaquemine. Everyone is friendly and it only takes a few minutes to get your food. Call ahead is available.”
“Order the rib plate which was delicious sides were awesome. The people were very friendly. This place is unique not the Run of the meal fast food joint.. Everyone there said the food was awesome.”
“Very cool place to listen to live music and hang out. Kid and dog friendly. I recommend eating before you go. The kitchen failed to prepare half of our order and took an hour for 1 pizza that we ended up getting to-go. Lots of potential here but they need to dial in their kitchen operations.”
“There was a brief time the employee that WAS there, helpful if you were trying to stay sober. Thankfully, she's no longer there. Now they're open and ready to serve customers with absolutely the best Daiquiris EVER!! Affordable and delicious. It's a regular stop for us a couple times a week. Love them!!”
“Great place, BUT the service needs to be highlighted. Their server was amazing, helpful, and patient with us while we waited for our second party. She made us a few Bloody Mary's, and got them perfect.”
“Plaquemines little secret for pizza and chicken sandwiches, Sandy was delightful and kind, the food was delicious and I even won a little $$ in the video poker room. ?”
“You will certainly really love The Pit Sports Bar & Daiquiris. It's kinda the perfect location. Every thing was fresh, flavorful, and really yummy. Staff was really nice - absolutely genuine. The Pit Sports Bar & Daiquiris is by far the best of the best in this area.”
“Food was ok not what I was expecting. I've heard so many good things about the food but it wasn't what I was expecting. Service was good. Our waitress was great.”
“Had lunch here yesterday with a friend. The view of the golf course is beautiful. Was surprised with the quality of silverware. I had the shrimp wrap with onion rings. The onion rings were generous and very good. Shrimp wrap could have used a few more shrimp for the price and less butter or oil, whatever leaked all over me and my plate.Waitress was attentive and offered a to go drink for us.”
“We went over here to have a coffee after filling up the bikes. Nice little shop with friendly staff. It smells delicious when you enter the store. We then ordered a burger with fries...which was really big and very tasty. A nice stop on Mississippi...:-)”
