“The bagels are very good. Cream cheese is great. Service was great. Very nice young people. I'm a bit of a bagel person, and I grew up in Brookline eating Kupels bagels, which are the best in New England, IMHO. My honest assessment of Elizabeth's bagels themselves is that they are tasty, with the right density balance, and overall very good. If I were to offer a criticism of them it would be that the crust is a bit different than I am used to. It has just the tiniest bit of flakiness to it, if that makes sense. It's not bad, and doesn't ruin them, but as I said, its not what I'm used to. Look, it's the only bagel place anywhere near here, and it would have to be just plain bad for me to not go back, and just keep eating supermarket bagels, but it's actually pretty decent, and I will, indeed, be back.“

“I grew up in the area and have lived abroad—mostly in Europe—for the past 15 years. Over that time, I’ve become very aware of the differences in ingredients and food quality between Europe and the U.S. When I come back each year to visit family, I often find that a lot of American food leaves me feeling bloated and uncomfortable, likely due to additives, dyes, and lower-quality ingredients that I’m no longer used to.

Blue Moon Bagel Cafe is the one wonderful exception.

I’ve been coming here since high school, and it’s the place I genuinely look forward to eating when I’m back in town. I truly trust their ingredients: the food tastes fresh, clean, and well made, and it doesn’t leave me with that heavy, uncomfortable feeling I get elsewhere. The sandwiches are delicious, everything feels thoughtfully prepared, and the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Prices are also quite reasonable for the area, especially considering current inflation in the US.

I’ll admit that some of the desserts are total sugar bombs—but that’s probably just my now very European palate talking! For those who love a sweet treat, they’re clearly doing something right.

All in all, Blue Moon Bagel Cafe is a real gem in Medfield. I’m grateful it’s still here and always make a point to visit when I’m back about once a year. Thank you for staying true to quality and consistency all these years.“

“This was the best location I've seen in a while! Their donuts actually looked SO good I had to buy some, and they were notably delicious. Typically I avoid donuts from the chain coffee shops bc they don't look or taste fresh but these were impressive. Staff was quick and friendly. Great experience!“
