About Mala Restaurant

Mala Restaurant is a popular spot for authentic Sichuan cuisine, known for its rich flavors and genuine Chinese taste. The busy atmosphere and crowded seating are complemented by good service. Their BBQ and dried stir-fried chicken with spicy Capsicum are must-try dishes. The dry stir-fried chicken has a dry, mildly spicy, and aromatic flavor that many find uniquely delicious. The restaurant also offers the Seafood Mala Bowl, which is delicious with a nice portion, and the pig ear, sliced perfectly like in Taiwan, is highly praised. Side dishes like jellyfish salad are available, though some find it less flavorful compared to Korean styles. The mala dry pot is considered by some to be the best in town, with the right kind of fatty beef and a good mix of ingredients, although more options could be added. Service is quick and friendly, and despite the challenge of parking, the quality of food makes visiting worthwhile. The restaurant is often packed, indicating the high quality and popularity of the dishes. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts seeking an enjoyable dining experience.

I love their dry pot - the portions are great and spicy. I also really enjoy the fish dishes cold noodles appetizer. The dishes are generally not super spicy (doesn't give you that numbing feeling especially if you have a high tolerance to spice) but it does pack a punch and it's flavorful.

Service is good and you order using an online menu/scanning a QR code. The interior is nice now that they renovated the interior!

Mala Restaurant is a well known Chinese restaurant serving mala dry pot and other spicy dishes near the Packard's Corner area of Allston.

The service is quick, there is smaller tables at the location so it may not be for larger parties, but take-out is an easy process and comes out quick.

We got the mala dry pot, squid skewer, and szechuan noodles. The szechuan noodles was packed to the brim, though all the oil sat at the bottom so mixing it within the container...read full review

Perfect Szechuan place in Brighton. Best MaPo Tofu on the planet. DanDan noodles and dry Mala pot are all consistently 10 out of 10. Good space and attentive staff when not overly busy. Plenty of dishes can be made Vegan and still super delicious. I am lucky to have them in my neighborhood. Thank you
