Sofra Bakery + Café Allston is a fast casual Turkish restaurant/cafe that is always super busy on weekends. The chicken kebab and chicken shawarma wrap are excellent. They have plenty of vegetarian options, including spinach/cheese gozleme, falafel, and seasonal veggie plates. There are also gluten-free and vegan options, such as crispy potatoes, muhamara, hummus, and grape leaves. The espresso drinks are lovely. The atmosphere makes it perfect for an easy, relaxed catch-up or a coffee date. They also offer catering services and are helpful and efficient. The food is delicious, but portions feel kind of small. Breakfast is served until 2pm on weekends. The pastries and baked goods are quite delicious, and the tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are great. However, the portions for the price can be ridiculous. The cafe has a nice ambiance, but lacks a comfortable laid-back atmosphere with internet service.
