Absolutely delicious and unique cocktails in a dark, moody lounge atmosphere. I got the Big in Japan and my husband got the Study Abroad and Sinaloa Sling, and we got the Potato Potato Dip as a snack. Both drinks were well balanced and smooth and stood up on their own as a main attraction. The dip was pickly and bright and was served with nice kettle cooked chips, we devoured it in minutes. This is a place I want to show off to my friends from out of town :)
Truly, a hidden gem with excellent mixologists and cocktails. Vibe is very cozy and secluded.
This is a real cocktail bar, with actual mixologists who craft amazing drinks with expertise and care. SO GLAD to have something of this quality in town.

The Archives is a stylish speakeasy in Amherst, known for its classic and original cocktails. The old basement environment is cool and surprisingly comfortable, despite some seating being uncomfortable. The quirky space includes a booth, bar seating, low tables, and a cute separate room. Notable drinks include the Touch of Grey, Risky Business, Pink Squirrel, and Espresso Martini. The cocktail menu is impressive, with fun drinks featuring big ice cubes. The atmosphere is carefully curated, and the bartenders are attentive and highly skilled, creating top-shelf cocktails that impress every time. Guests often comment on the relaxed vibe, the secret door, and the friendly service. The ambiance with low cool lighting and cozy small rooms adds to the charm, making it a perfect late-night spot for drinks and snacks. Some seating, like the bench style, may not be comfortable for everyone, but the overall experience and quality of drinks keep visitors returning. The celery appetizer is a favorite for many, and the staff’s care and knowledge, especially that of the bartender, enhance the visit. Visitors can ask questions about making better cocktails and learn from the skilled mixologists. Overall, The Archives remains a hidden gem for those seeking delightful beverages and a unique, intimate setting.
